That one was painful. Kanata deserved so much better than the way she treated him.

Oh! Nana for sure! There are a whole bunch of painful romances going on there.
One protagonist has an on/off thing with this guy who has drug issues and who she has a complicated history with.
The other protagonist has tons of issues.
she gets cheated on by one guy because she can't love him the way he loves her
then she gets into a complicated love triangle with two guys, one who is mentally abusive and cheats on her (she knows about it, but stays with him anyway), and one who is good and kind, but can't be what she needs (you'll understand what I mean if you read it; I don't want to give it away.)
The really sad thing is that she loves both guys, but her love for them is self-destructive.
Anyway, the romances and relationships in this manga are so heart-wrenching. For sure read this.

“The good guys fight for freedom, justice and most words that don’t put food on the table. The bad fight to scrub those words from our speech. Only problem is, both sides claim to be good.”

Oh! sorry, I thought of another one. If you liked Strobe Edge, then you should read Parfait Tic.
It's similar, in that it starts with a guy who likes a girl who likes a different guy who doesn't return her feelings. But it becomes so much more complex and while Strobe Edge never made me cry, I almost did when reading the (69th? 70th?) chapter of Parfait Tic.

Nana is pretty much a prime example of what I'm looking for. Since it has multiple relationships it encompasses most of what I want.

Sorry, this may sound so shallow to some...but Hana to Akuma definitely pained my heart when I read it.
Especially the time when...
Vivi(the guy) left her for more than 3 years..and the fact that Hana has been waiting for his return everyday for the past 3 years. It's just so painful. And the ending is SO painful, I swear I heard my heart tear into pieces. I wasn't still finished and far from the very last page, I was already crying. It's really just so heart-breaking to know that Hana and Vivi are not meant to be together, but they still decided to be together (even with all the consequences). Damn, I hate remembering that manga.
