It's a freaking BL manga, lovelies, based on one of the most canonically (historically) subtexty and HOT characters EVER. Yeah, so! Actual historical characters! Who actually were or are now being portrayed as gay! By lovely BL mangakas who want to stake their claim on history with a glittery rainbow flag!

The only other titles I can think of right now are Cantarella and Ludwig II, but - any others? There's this Alexander the Great manga, Alexander Daiou - Tenjou no Oukoku, but it isn't classified as BL even though it plausibly might be (can anyone confirm?). I mean, I just can't imagine a straight Alexander. Sorry. (Not. 😀 )

Wow I really really love this topic! The thing I can think of right now is that one of the stories in A Night of a thousand dreams (volume 6 I think) involved a romance between Socrates and a young Alcibiades. Wow, I did not know there was a manga about Alexander the Great! I'm definately looking into that.
