The March issue of Ichijinsha's Comic Zero Sum magazine is revealing on Saturday that Madoka Takadono and Utako Yukihiro's Devils and Realist (Makai Ōji: Devils and Realist) manga will end in the magazine's next issue in February.

In addition, the manga anthology adaptation of the "ikemen-raising" mobile game A3! will also end in the magazine's next issue.

Devils and Realist's story revolves around William, an aristocratic family's progeny with rare intellect. One day, his uncle lost his possessions after his business failed. Fearing that his family's name has been tarnished, William returns home and searches with his family's butler for anything that can be converted into cash. A search of the premises yields an underground room left by an ancestor. In the room is a magical seal, and William unintentionally summons a devil. The summoned devil tells William his name is Dantalion, and reveals that William is the "Elector" who can choose the next acting ruler of Hell.

Artist Yukihiro (Uta no Prince Sama) and novelist Takadono (Hakushakuke Goyōtashi) launched the manga in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero Sum magazine in 2009. Ichijinsha published the 14th volume on last July. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English, and published the 13th volume in North America last November.

Chiaki Kon (Junjō Romantica, When They Cry - Higurashi, La storia della Arcana Famiglia) directed a 12-episode television anime adaptation, which premiered in July 2013. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.

The manga has also inspired two stage musical adaptations. The first musical ran in Tokyo in June 2016, and the second musical ran in Tokyo in November.
