Awkward silences

Sometimes it's better to accept the silence than be dragged into a conversation that goes no where.
Keep the shit alive.
Though, a situation like this
doesn't really happen around me.
Try to keep the conversation alive....find another idea much funny within the same topic...
I usually just start laughing.
That breaks it pretty well. Unless it's something serious.
Then you just have to endure it.

Happiness isn't good enough for me! I demand euphoria!” "[/color]
I say, "Awkkwwwwaarrrddd."
And then we all laugh about it and within that time limit someone usually has something to say.
And I'm a very random person and a big fan of random facts so I'd tell one and we somehow either share our own or discuss it.
I keep it real. 😀

Awkardness is my only phobia.
I get so nervous I begin to ramble about anything and everything without a second of silence.
I die a little inside each time. D:
Mostly small talk with strangers or if I'm alone with a guy I like.
If I'm at a party or with friends I just come up with some random stupid fact or convo and keep it going. With my friends it never really gets awkward...

I don't mind silence, so it's usually the other person who breaks down into mindless chatter after squirming around visibly agitated.
In the event that I'm the one who feels the awkwardness:

I don't do anything at all. I don't usually feel all that awkward about it, unless I am on a first date or something (then I may make an effort). I don't really like to talk all that much, so I am probably the cause of most of the "awkward" silences that happen around me. I usually make it worse, in fact, because I maintain eye contact, while waiting for the other person to start talking again (silence+eye contact apparently bothers most people). But, if I don't talk and I don't look them in the eye, then how am I supposed to give the illusion of interest?

I don't think "awkward silences" really occur around me, since my mouth is always moving if someone else isn't talking (or if they are). On the rare occasion they do occur, I usually say "Way to kill the conversation" and give the person a hard time for creating said silence. I don't cause them, since, as I've said, my mouth is always moving...Haha. Actually, when it's my fault, I usually say something along the lines of "And I think I just murdered the conversation."

I don't like awkward silences... they're unbearable, so I'll usually just start talking about something else and pretend I just remembered something important. XD

i always say some wierd quote or just some random thing that makes no sense, then when they look at me funny i explain where the quote is from to end the silence 😀

I usually go... "Wow, awkward silence" and we both laugh and find a topic to talk about.
It works, they're thinking it, you're thinking it, why not just tell it like it is? Sometimes if we don't find a new topic we'll talk about very awkward social interactions.

I either change the subject, laugh about it then quickly change the subject, or go "Awkward..." in a sing-song voice or I say "It got quiet..." Awkward moments...are well awkward and silent...
