Hey! It has been a while since I read Hunter x Hunter. I have a question that I am somehow entertaining at the moment.

Before Kurapika becomes a bodyguard of Neon, so right at the beginning of the Yorkshin/Genei Ryodan Arc, he meets up with other bodyguard candidates in a big house and does some tasks or something. So my questions are: Which chapters did this occur on?, Who were the other candidates and what were their abilities?, and what happened in the house?

I know for instance that Kuropika was selected, but I don't know what he did to be chosen. I also know there was some guy among the candidates that could write stuff on a piece of paper and make something happen (rofl I forgot the important parts). Maybe someone died too, I also forget.

but:

I remember there was a women among them that could control people by kissing them, a guy that could control dogs (which was by the way part of the test)

And that's about it...

Anyway, I suggest you reread the part around vol 10 maybe? should be in that area...

I think the powerful kisser is named Veze. I tried to google some stuff to see if the chapter number was mentioned, but to no avail. How did you decide on volume 10?

Volume 8 chapter 67 is the Body Collection Mansion (1). 68 is the second part.

Four potential candidates entered the trial along with two already body guards

Sachimono Tochino - Can control up to 11 human auras at once but only can give them very few demands and has to be in the room with them.

Scuwala - Can control Dogs...

Bashou - Anything he writes down on a piece of paper and says aloud will come true. it never really went into any detail,

considering how weak he was and how quickly he was disposed of...but you never really saw any real technique come from it

Veze - "Instant Love" The ability to make any one she kisses obey her commands...scary ability

Senritsu - Has an amazing ear that can hear others heart beats as well as foot steps miles away. Can also play instruments in order to give the listeners specifics effects just as calming melodies.

Kurapica is the last to arrive at the mansion where all the "potential" bodyguards are suppose to meet. All six are in the room when the "boss" makes an announcement over the monitor. He says that before they will be employed they need to retrieve at least one of the blacklist items on a list that are laying around the room that they are in. He also says that the minimum requirement is to be strong. Meanwhile Bashou is about to leave but realizes the room is locked, the "boss" adds in that they need to at least leave the room alive. At that point 11 figures enter the room with guns and swords fireing and slashing away. Bashou jumps out of the way and Veze used the butler in the room as a shield, Senritsu hides behind a piano. Moments later kurapica realizes what is going on and holds up Tochino. He admits to controlling them. Kurapica also figures out that he wasn't working along and uses his dousing chain to figure that Scuwala is also a mole. Bahou uses his power to ask Scuwala if he is indeed working for the boss. He admits to it, then Veze kisses him making him....well...beg to be abused while Veze records it basically. Afterwards in the last panel they say all four escaped.

I don't feel like finding the other chapter where they are accepted but i am pretty sure they are all 4 accepted by getting 4 blacklist items. Kurapicas i believe is the hair of some famous person with dna certification.

Awesome, excellent, great! I had just independently arrived at your results through rewatching episodes 48-50.

I only found out some of the names, but yes Bashou does die even though his haiku related power is broken strong.
