i have been into(well more like addicted) to anime/manga for about 6+ yrs. and over time my opinions changed and what i used to love became a like or that it was okay and something else would take the place of love. i dont mean like a certain anime or manga i mean like genres or artists. i also started to notice that i could also understand plot lines and details more. an example is like xam'd lost memories or naruto. i thought naruto was annoying at first then i got into it and liked it...alot. Xam'd lost memories is another cuz i was like wtf is this (sorry for the harsh words i really do like it now) cuz when i started i was just confused then later came and i decided to go back to it and now i actually re-watching it again to see what i missed. to point out another example is yaoi or shounen ai (piss off haterz) i use to read these by accident and be like I AM SOOO CONFUSED WTH JUST HAPPENED and now i am really into it and find some of them really sweet and some or my all time favorites (ex: totally captivated or let dai). and i was wondering if anyone else went through this experience.

From what I could gather about your post, you're saying that as you continued to read manga and watch anime, over time you began to understand the basic designs of plot and storytelling, as well as recurring--if not cliche--themes. This is natural. The more you read books, read manga, watch films, or watch anime, you pick up patterns. Humans are particularly good at noticing patterns; eventually, we understand and recognize these patterns as they arise within new media.
As well, Syphillis points out that as you age, your perceptions change as your beliefs/opinions evolve. What you may have liked before you may not like presently.

Oh yup. I remember being enslaved to the screen by Fushigi Yuugi and Gundam Seed. I thought they were the two greatest series ever. Fast forward a couple of years ... they both seem really mediocre. Same thing with Pokemon. 😢 I actually wish I could enjoy them like I used to.

On the other hand, I remember not understanding some series at all - like Evangelion? I was confused as hell by the end ... which I guess is understandable since I was 9 or 10 when I watched it. And Cowboy Bepop?...flew right over my head. I thought Ghost in the Shell and Black Lagoon were boring too. 🤣
