A manga based on the bible. I've recently just heard of this through other forums and i find it to be quite an interesting topic. You can learn more about the manga here:

Anyways, i haven't read it yet and still can't find it anywhere on the net. But it's been translated in my language, in English and a lot of other languages. If i ever see a copy here, i'll probably but it right away.

I think this is a great concept, the bible is one of the best books or compilation of books ever made, and a manga adaptation would seem appealing to a lot of people i believe. What do you guys think?

LOLZ THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN. That's just great, Manga Jesus will now have a whole host of hot babes that trail him around, and much to god's embarassment, Jesus will get into awkward situations with his harem.

i dunno Jesus and manga don't seem like right mix to me. this seems more like those little animated shorts about the bible, or those weird bible games that somehow get released. i don't see this as being liked really well by a lot of people, for many different reasons. plus i have a bad feeling that it's gonna be a large source of reader controversy. cause theres a big chance someone who has an opinion on it might end up offending someone.

That's true, if you read the wiki, there's already apparently anti-semitic controversy over the manga.

I guess it'll really depend on how well it's done. I can see it as being awsome or horrible. It's certainly a fresh idea on how to share the Gospel, but if they get to far off track or overdramatize or even try to add in a romance besides the one between God and Man, it'll stink.
This coming from the girl who watches Easter specials and freaks out when the angels appear to Mary Magdalene before she reaches the tomb...
As far as the anti-semetic overtones, I've found that often highly overrated. Take the Passion of Christ. There was a huge cry against that saying it blamed the Jews for Jesus' death. When I saw the movie, I could see where someone wanting or expecting to see that would, but personally, felt the argument was weak.

Well it would really depend on your personal views, that's why i kinda started this topic. I like it cause it'd be a good way to reach out to other people because of the use of manga as a medium. This is if it's done properly.
