Every now and then I will find a relatively new series that I like, but since I am not familiar with the magazine, so I will be left wondering when the next chapter will be released in the "Country of Origin" (to use the term from the manga information forms).

Some magazines are less of a problem when it comes to this, just from the name how often do you think "Weekly Shounen Jump" comes out? However, some magazine names are not indicative of how often they come out, and weekly and bi-weekly serializations seem to have close to the same chapter length, and the same for monthly and bi-monthly serializations, so chapter length is sometimes not indicative either.

I do not always care about how often a series comes out, at least compared to how quickly the scanlators are releasing new chapters, but when I really want to know, not having the information readily available makes me a little more crazy than I already am. 😉

The same could be said about anything in this site, really. Why have an information page for manga where all the information could be found in google or wikipedia? Why have a news section when all the information could be found in google or wikipedia? Why have a scanlator, mangaka and publishers sections when all the information could be found in google or wikipedia?

I have tried using google and wiki to find that information, from time to time, however one issue that I have found is that sometimes the information may not be readily available on English sites.

For instance my most recent attempt at finding the release schedule was for the series "Gate thus the JSDF Fought There" or "Gate - Jietai Kare no Chi nite, Kaku Tatakeri", The main site I found was the publisher's Japanese website, and even though it was interesting to see, I mainly saw the Gate Novels, I did not really learn about the release schedule.

my main point being that for the more obscure a magazine or, as in the case of Gate, a "Web Manga Selection" the more obscure information on it will be, and thus the more having that information readily available would be appreciated.
