I buy exclusively in physical stores, I like to buy from small local manga stores to support them on top of supporting my favorite authors.

Exclusively online. They only have Pokemon, CCS and such in the physical book stores in my country, and there's no anime at all.

Exclusively online. I get way better deals on physical manga online. Oddly enough most of the time its also better than buying digitally from comixology which is screwed up considering that publishers are saving money from not having to make the physical product or box it and ship it to a retailer. You would think they would pass some of those savings unto the customer at least during sales.

As far as anime goes there is very little in b&m stores in my city and for limited editions from certain companies you are restricted to a few online stores. I've also imported a few anime sets, so everything is online. Plus I live in a major city where traffic can get pretty bad, so why waste my limited time in a car or bus hunting for manga and anime from store to store when I could save time and do it all online.

Mmm, yeah, much like calstine says, even if I wanted to buy locally there's hardly anything there for me considering the very limited selection being sold there.......so yeah, there's just not much reason to even bother with physical stores where I am, spending my money exclusively online is, for all intents and purposes, the best/only option I have.

It's around 50-50. Probably more in store than online back in the day but I have been getting more things online, especially figurines, this past year.

I say in store but it's mostly at expo's where I get the base of my merch collection. There is little around me that sell anime merch, and if they do it's usually overpriced anyway so.

It depends on the type of merchandise.

Anime, I buy almost exclusively online simply because it's easier (and I buy only when things are on sale). Manga, it's about 50-50, since I love going to bookstores in general, but ordering series in bulk is easier to do online. Figures, almost exclusively online, while general merchandise (keychains, clear files, etc.) are almost exclusively in physical stores. CDs are 50-50.
