Hi, guys, I found these articles that analyzes why it’s common the feminization of Ike characters in Danmei or Chinese BL works and why Danmei fans like feminine seme characters. They were illuminating and they confirmed my suspicions that feminine ukes are common partly because they were already stock characters in Classical Chinese depictions of homosexual desire and that feminine semes are loved as they challenged gender norms and heteronormativity.
