I'm pretty new to mangaupdates. I'm finding the tracking system (reading lists and associated notifications) a little confusing as I don't know if I should be using volume + chapters or just chapters to keep track of my mangas.

For e.g., K-ON has had chapter 37 released. But I'm not getting any notifications for it. This might be because the current scanlator (unlike earlier ones) is using volume + chapter to denote releases. I.e., Houkago has released V3 C10.

There are also other mangas like Kenichi which don't bother with volumes at all and some like kekkaishi which use volume numbers along with "global" chapter numbers. There are also a bunch that seem to mix and match 🙁

The tracking goes purely by chapter numbers, which is why it gets screwed up when groups restart the numbering on every volume

Can't something be done about this? Perhaps a check for duplicate chapter numbers per group during submission?
