Why do guys feel the need to ask if a girl is a virgin or not?

I am not a guy but I never met any guy asking me that question during all my dating life. Is it your culture or something? I am sure there are girls who ask guys that question too. Why don't you ask them too then?

Anyway, I know girls ask the question as well. But my main point is that I want to know what is going through the mind of a guy who asks a girl, "Are you a virgin?"
It also depends on the situation as to why the guy would ask the question. Well, let's just say (in my experience) it was completely random, and there wasn't a conversation beforehand that was sexual. And yeah, I have never asked a guy whether or not he was a virgin. Because I'm just not really curious about it.

So why don't you ask them why they want to know then? They might have different reasons. The only way to know the reason is asking the specific boy why he wants to know when they ask you that question, rather than asking us on here.
I would expect the conversation was sexual before they asked you that question. But it was completely random. It's weird to me. So I think you should ask them the reason instead. It might be the situation, or the person. We don't know.

I would ask a girl that only if there was a possibility for me to marry her, call me hypocrite but i wouldn't want my wife-to-be to be stained by some one else

About the virginity question:
Some times guys ask a girl they are interested in because they want to know if they would be the first. This is important to some guys. Other guys are just looking to rack up "firsts" like trophies. Back when I used to get asked this question, I just looked them in the eye and asked them "why do you want to know?" Those were the most common reasons I came across from asking that question and what guy friends told me. If you don't wish to answer them just say "that's classified information, and you don't have the security clearance to get an answer." They probably won't ask again.............. Works great when guys ask your age too.
Now the "would you hook up a guy you liked with a friend/girlfriend if he asked" question:
Hell no, he's on his own. If he's that blind and stupid to someone else's feelings, my friend doesn't deserve him either.

The reason changes with each person, but I would say this... if the Woman thinks she is not equal to the guy, the relationship is doomed to fail (or become a nightmare), and the same happens when a guy feels inferior to his girlfriend.
Guys avoid relationships with strong or smart girls because they have doubts of their own qualities, also remember science has proven that of the 2 genders males fall more harshly in love and as such get much more hurt when everything goes to the south pole.

About the virginity question:
Let me put it in my point of view
I don't ask, is simple, if I like you a lot there is no fucking way i would want to know if you did it before or not (nor who or how many), if I just like you, then your answer will have an effect in my interest... then again, who the fuck asks that question out of the blue? I prefer to take a subtle approach.

I actually prefer smart and mentally (not physically) strong women. But as for those men that don't, he pretty much nailed it. The don't want to feel inferior to their girlfriend since men are traditionally supposed to be the more dominant of the sexes. As a result the usually look for meeker women that they can at least control to some degree.

Was in this situation until nearly a month ago. We liked each other for a month, both of us scared of making the first move. Then he asked me out. I felt amazing, exuberant. OMGHELIKESME??-type of thing. Now I poke fun at him for leading me on for that first month 😛
