But it's not like they're destined to be different. It's just that they are differently raised by society, parents, etc... That they think/behave differently.

It's not completely "nurture" though, there's also a fair amount of "nature" involved.

Even parents who try VERY hard not to enforce societal norms on their kids will tell you that boys tend to naturally do "boy" things (play rowdy, interested in trucks & machines, etc.) while girls tend to naturally do "girl" things (play more quietly, like babies/dolls, etc.) even when all types of activities are offered & acceptable. Of course there are exceptions, but generally, overall, it does hold true. (Have you heard the old joke, "give a little boy a baby doll, and pretty soon he'll be using it like a hammer; give a little girl a hammer, and pretty soon she'll be using it like a baby doll"? 🤣 )

Males & females are genetically different; they have different types/levels of hormones in their bodies (and definitely not just during & after puberty!); they're just different from each other. That's not to say either is "better" or that there's no way they can understand each other, though. 😃

At the same time, psychological and sociological studies of children show that the perceived gender of a child can affect the way behavior is perceived. And I've had enough experience dealing with children to tell you that both genders are violent, both like taking care of dolls, and both are likely to imagine toys as other things. There is a noticeable difference in development of hand-eye coordination and maturity (girls develop faster than boys mentally, for realz. That's why girls are more likely to play quietly. The gender gap closes very quickly though, and from 2nd to 5th grade children of both genders have very comparable behavior)

Okay, here's a question -
Honestly - when someone has been with more partners than you/has had x amount of partners at x age, are you thinking they're a "slut" or that it's just whatever for you?

One thing is to have partners, another thing is to have sexual partners.

I think that having boyfriends/girlfriends is part of our maturing process. Also, how can you know who's right for you without trying some sort of relationship with that person.

Sex is an intimate and special thing. At my eyes, girls who "give" it easily loose value. A girl that had sex with multiple partners just shows how vulgar they are or their notion of sex is.

Quote from story645

It's her body, she can do what she wants with it-plus it's just harmless flirting.

It's not harmless. First of all, she's 'using' her body as a tool in a deragotary way. Second of all, she's being manipulative. Leading her 'prey' on. Especially if she does that alot with a certain person. Said person will then think she has interest in him, while it's completely the opposite.

First of, like she said, it is her body. You're saying that with the preconceived notion that it should be sacred, blah blah blah, and not everyone has the same beliefs. Second, everyone's a bit manipulative.Yes it is wrong, but I wouldn't say it's any more wrong if a woman use her own body doing it, than a man using sweet words to sleep with a woman he really doesn't like (i.e. he's just a lusting man-whore). Lastly, Guys do it too~

Quote from story645

Quote from amaranthine

So true, I don't get how guys get turned on by violence... it's creepy. Like they want to hurt the women or is it because they want to prove their dominance?

Girl's get turned on by violence too-I can think of quite a few mangas where the consent is questionable and the couple's supposed to be all in love. Non-con and psuedo-con are there own genres, with heavy layers of S&M. It's violent, but with a layer of romanticism.

I'm not saying that they aren't. Some girls are, just like some guys. But there's a huge difference on the level of violence and prevalence of those manga for their target audience...

Oh my Gahw... you sure made me laugh out loud..thank goodness I was done with my drink 🤣 I like your post if you are not insulting someone or disagreeing with them then you are more likely insulting them 🤣

and that's not necessary true...they don't have to be gay, emotionally unstable, sad, or gay! I think a guys don't like to express emotion because they are conditioned by society to be that way..and if you ask me I think guys are more emotional than girls!!!!!!!! 😲 they get angry quickly, fall in love the fastest or fall in lust for that matter, they get jealous if a guy looks at their chick..especially is she's hot! I mean come on....don't you girls agree with me? and let me tell you that girls can be quite cold when it comes to playing with emotions 😉

Guys are emotional. But we don't usually show it. We keep it inside. That's what makes us, according to social role norm, men. It's only the abnormal ones and gay ones that cry and tell people they are sad....like all the freaking emo.....

Well, did you read most of my post or did you just read one and came to the conclusion that I make you laugh?

btw, girls are lustful too. I know someone who just gets a new guy every week and you know.

I've always wondered this. Forgive me if I'm getting to personal, but do women enjoy giving/recieving oral sex? Again, sorry if the question makes you feel uncomfortable. Just had to ask it and get it off my chest.

The receiving part of this question is pretty self explanatory.

I don't care what those women do. But the examples I've given were pretty minimal though. So they weren't that bad. But still would you say the same thing about women who sleep to get what they want? Or they immediately sleep with them on the first date, so they would be likened? Is that the norm that women should follow?

Second, everyone's a bit manipulative.Yes it is wrong, but I wouldn't say it's any more wrong if a woman use her own body doing it, than a man using sweet words to sleep with a woman he really doesn't like (i.e. he's just a lusting man-whore).

Okay, two things are funny. 🤣 First of all, why do you always have to make an analogy with men? It's like you're saying "B-but they do it too! 😲 Besides, they're much worse. >:-( " Don't you see that it doesn't matter which gender it does. Manipulating people is still wrong! We even had a seperate thread of that subject, and most of the MU forum-ongoers were against it.

And second, why did you give us a nice curse word with the men and not the women? 😀 It's like saying "Damn men. >:-( ! They're despicable. Women do it too, but we're allowed to do that~"

I'm not attacking you. 🤣 But you always seem soo pro-woman, anti-man. And that bothers me. >.< Not because I'm a guy, but I hate classifying.

I have read most of your post and like I say before I like your posts..I find them very fun to read! I like your sarcasm...even on this one! 😁

And yes, girls are lustfull beings too! who said other wise...its just like you said its the social norm that we have to have restiction but the male is freer...actually its ok for the male to sleep with many partners but is frown upon a woman to do so...so we all have very different roles in society. Males have to be strong if they are not them they are consider gay...if girls are strong they are consider b!tc% or a shemale...its a shame really how gender roles can put people on boxes on which is really hard to get out.

But guys its ok to show some kind of emotion...its actually pretty sweet! and not gay at all...but just don't over do it 😛

I think i actually read all of those 21 pages. lol.

xombiemonkey, if you really wanna know my age pm me [thats possible on MU rite?] 😉 lol.

I have a question. In american pie, the girl's in the guy's room and finds his porn, takes it out of the drawer and puts her hand down her pants while looking at it.

Also, earlier someone said [a girl i'm pretty sure] that she just enjoyed seeing guy and guy or girl and girl kiss.

Im confused. does this mean these people are bisexuals or do girls get turned on by girls aswell SO CONFUSED. coz i dont think the girl in american pie was bisexual. 😕

@Dr Love: lol, you sure sound like you're attacking her. but i guess you're making good points... although aren't you reading into her comments too much? idk.

Well, that was not my intention at all. 😀 And I don't think I'm reading too much in it. >.< Should I have added a bunch of smileys? 🤣

I just like discussing~

(Warning, I'm totally a moral relativist) I don't really think there should be a norm-everyone's got different values and they should stick to what they believe. I don't think a girl should ever sleep with someone just to be liked-but that's 'cause it's self-destructive behavior caused by insecurity and tends to feed back into/lead to negative relationship patterns and I feel bad for that girls friends, 'cause she's usually a total headache to deal with. If she's sleeping with him on the first date 'cause she just wants to get laid, I don't see what the big deal is. That whole consenting adults responsible for their own decisions. And if she's sleeping with him to get paid/get something-people have been sleeping with bosses to get ahead for ages-she's got every right to commodify her body.

[quote]Manipulating people is still wrong!['/quote]
shrugs I know plenty of people who don't even realize they're being manipulative-it's just an embedded personality trait or something. Plus, I don't see why it's so wrong-we manipulate children all the time to get them to behave or eat their veggies; sometimes you need someone to do something for you or their own good and simply asking won't work.

I have a question. In american pie, the girl's in the guy's room and finds his porn, takes it out of the drawer and puts her hand down her pants while looking at it.

Are you sure it wasn't straight porn?

Why should it matter if they use their body to get what they want? We do it all the time, in just a less vulgar manner. ie using your hand to grab a water bottle. The problem though with women using sex to get what they want usually means undermining some sort of system. Women sleeping with men to get a job, women sleeping with men to get a good grade, etc. That's when it's wrong, because a job or a good grade shouldn't depend on sex. But women sleeping with men to get them to like her. That's not really a big deal. If the man really does like her after that, then what's the problem? Whether or not that's the norm is up to the individual in the situation, not you.

She may have used men as an example, but I think you're interpreting it the wrong way. She's not using men in order to make a point that women should be equal. She could as well have said teachers attempt to manipulate students into studying hard. I don't see why you had to bring the gender argument into it.

I think we're following a culture in which a lot of women (and I'm not saying ALL) are trying to be exactly what the men want them to be. Guys want them to be pretty and sexy, so women wear make-up and super-skimpy clothes. Men like sex, so some women (with dangerously low self-esteem) start sleeping with men even on a first date just to be liked. I don't call this liberation or freedom---as some women say it is, I call this giving in to the idea that women are sex objects
And using sex to get what they want...It just doesn't float well with me. Somehow, it sounds dangerously like prostitution.

Second, everyone's a bit manipulative.Yes it is wrong, but I wouldn't say it's any more wrong if a woman use her own body doing it, than a man using sweet words to sleep with a woman he really doesn't like (i.e. he's just a lusting man-whore).

Just because men do it doesn't men women should do it too. Why follow the wrong example?
