Who's your most likable character? Someone who even if you took away their powers or the author did not test this character with obstacle after obstacle would still be a likable and cool person. Basically if you met this character in real life living in a middle class family with mostly trivial problem who would be your favorite?

why should he live in a middle class family with mostly trivial problems?
that makes the whole thing just weird

he cant be interesting if he belongs to the working class?
he is boring if he is too rich?
you cant like someone if they come from a really poor family?

your post just angers me

i like characters that do not get along so well with others
so i would most likely not be spending any time with any of my
favorite characters

Now that I think about it, are there any japanese batmen ( average guys who manage to do batshit against other people with powers or more strength ) ?

I don't usually like character for their powers, but if they were just a part of an ordinary family that'd be boring, and they wouldn't be the same person at all. Take for example Stanfield Claire, how could that psychopath, which is my favorite character, ever be in a normal family ? However, depleted of any power, he'd still be amazing and manage something.

If there's one guy who's likeable even without nothing and doing no shit, it's Ryner Lute, however. The reason I enjoyed that guy is because he does nothing nor does he wish for anything. That guy is the most similar to me I've ever seen in a manga.

Captain Kiichi Goto from Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor. How can you not love this face:

Too bad that he never got his happy ending. Damn you Mamoru Oshii.

@Katsonohe: The manga that comes closes to the actual Batman comics is Until Death Do Us Part.

Sorry if I offended you TaoPaiPai. Being in a middle class family does not mean you will only face trivial problems. By the mere fact that a person is a live guarantees them difficulties, Whether a person is boring or is unlikable has nothing to do with his or her financial state. In my opinion it doesn't even have anything to do with the person, but the person perceiving them and his or her preference and prejudice. I have no idea how I made you think I meant that, but nonetheless I apologize.

To be honest I think in some circumstances it doesn't matter the difficulty, but how much a person can withstand. What do you guys think?

Anyway, let me rephrase my question. As Katsono said a person's background and experiences is a big part of who they are. This is seen especially in anime with characters like Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul, MC from immortal regis, lelouch from code geass and so much more. Yusuke Urameshi is my fave character, but my most likable character is Luffy from One Piece. I feel that no matter what world he'd live in he'd be close to the same and just as lovable.Which character do you feel similar about or just feel that they have a strong and likable personality?
