New Poll - Young vs Old

The idea for this poll was suggested by BlackOrion many years ago, but I've adapted it slightly. Ideally this would have more choices where you could pick multiple sets of options, but I opted to keep it simple. I was thinking of putting comedy vs. serious in there too, but the way site polls are conducted don't really aid in that kind voting.

Haha, I should've removed all those weird, old systems. Oh well... I am really surprised that MacOS has such a low showing. And those TempleOS votes are just trolling

I used to love Shonen manga, but besides One Piece, I don't read them anymore. I especially can't stand Black Clover, but I probably would have loved it when I was younger.

Stayed about the same. I was 17 when I started getting into manga, so I suppose my adult preferences had already formed by then. I have developed a higher tolerance for sexually explicit content, but it's not like I read more of it: I've just stopped getting all flustered when I see something like that, and become mostly indifferent 🤣
Stayed about the same, as I don´t know which metric to use for my age. I was 20 a decade ago and had refined tastes back then too. I just could withstand bullshit longer. Did my tastes change to what anime (manga was harder to get back then) I watched at age 10, or younger? Sure but daytime TV and random VHS tapes were all you could get when it came to anime.
I was also a fan or R-rated content since kindergarten, as my mother never gave a shit about age ratings. If that is what counts for "mature", if we go by our genres. Not that I would agree. Devilman is both Shounen and child inappropriate.
I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.

Dunno. I've become a bit more of an omnivore, I think, but in terms of the target age... I've always been fine with reading stuff, regardless of the target age, but I guess I might have become a little more receptive to some forms of more adult stuff.
(and like calstine, I too have developed a greater tolerance for sexually explicit stuff, and some other things as well, which would make me shocked/flustered, before ...and I was also about 17 when I started)

Stayed about the same. Only difference that now I have a greater understanding and appreciation for everything going on. Before, I just continued reading it while only understanding a quarter of it.

You have no idea how many people want to talk to God, and/or stick it to the glow-in-the-dark CIA ayys.
I'd say I'm probably reading more adult stuff...but only because it's mostly just Yuri now and well... a lot of it is "mature" lmao

Now I'm reading more adult, mature stuff
I still read a lot of shounen and shoujo. I definitely read more josei and seinen, now. Its not like I didn't read those before, but now I try to actively search for them.

Only the kind of people who glow in the dark would say such sacrilegious things.

Mine stayed the same. I enjoy a few good seinen manga but I still pick up anything that comes out in Jump. The only way my tastes have broadened is that I've given a couple of great shoujo manga a chance.... Before Ouran High School Host Club I hadn't seriously considered reading any (I watched Sailor Moon when it was on Toonami but still never read the manga), but now Chihayafuru is actually one of my favorites of all time.

I've always read mature stuff ( The first Volume of manga I bought was Battle Angel Alita), but it probably is a larger percentage of my total manga now

Overall reading more mature stuff. I've become more open-minded towards some genres, but on the other hand I've become much more critical towards anything I consider generic.
