there's mine: Slovak, Czech (I don't count this as it's similar to Slovak), English, German, I understand Polnish (but again it's similar to mine), a little Japanese.

Whoa, I'm so ashamed...
I know only two -- my own language (not worth mentioning what, since it's only spoken in my tiny island nation and nowhere else in the world) and English, in which I am satisfactorily fluent.

Learning languages other than those two aren't compulsory in our school system -- though this was changed just last year, I'd already graduated by then ^_^

I wish I could learn Japanese or Chinese, but I'm too busy studying for my college entrance exams. And after I get in, I'll be completely occupied with the coursework...
Looks like reading manga without depending on any scanlation group will always be an unattainable dream 😢

Fluent in English and Cantonese. Understand Mandarin most of the times (I can watch drama without subtitles! 😀 ) and understand very very very basic (everyday used sentences) Korean like (Where are you going?, I'm hungry, It's boring, I'm tired, It's cold etc..) that I learnt from my korean friends conversations, I know and can read/write the korean alphabet but cannot pronounce the words really well. I don't know how to write words because I don't know where to place the letters...

Wow I feel so ashamed. 😢

I only know English. I have a horrible memory so retaining information isn't really my strong point and any information I do retain usually consists of useless video game knowledge and random facts that would probably only be useful if I was a contestant on a game show.

I fluent in Filipino (native tongue) and English as I grew up learning both. Currently, I am simultaneously taking classes for Spanish and Japanese. I would say my proficiency in Spanish right now is a 3/10 and for Japanese, 2/10. I still have a long way to go for both languages but I hope I can be fluent in the next few years and take up my fifth language.

So envious of those who know three to four languages. May I ask what method you used to learn other languages?

I want to learn Japanese more than nay other language, but can understand bits and pieces of it (can't read it at all). I also know very little basic German too. Nothing special for me, only fluent in English. 🤢

Woah, I had no idea there are so many people who know over 4 languages... And I was proud for my 3 (fluent Greek, more or less fluent English and semi-fluent German despite going to a German-speaking school shame)... o///o

@RocketDive: I learned German with the traditional textbook method, and here I am, unable to express my thoughts in an understandable way. English on the other hand I learnt by watching Friends without subs and learning some basic vocabulary (only to a basic level though, after that my parents were insistent on hiring a tutor to get me to a better level. But my tutor didn't really use textbooks either, she mainly chatted with me and gave me simple sentences to learn which contained words that were unfamiliar to me.) So, I'd strongly advise you to stay away from regular textbooks, keep expanding your vocabulary and just do fun stuff in your target language. 😀
