with that last chapter out I definitely feel the end, it connects bad guys under one supreme bad guy which is always a sign that the end is near. I can't see the addition of new bad guys with different motives without it being clunky.

Supreme bad guy being

Uchiha Madara: releaser of the kyuubi, killer of the Uchiha and commander of Pain(possibly)

then Kabuto is good clean up like Saruman at the end of The Lord of the Rings, a nice transition back to Konoha.

and all things considered the fight between

sasuke' and Itachi seems to be going pretty quickly especially when you take in to account their past and their fighting techniques.

there's always the possibility that danzou is the final villan, he might even be intertwined with the atkatsuki. yes i agree that madara is tobi, but what im not sure about is whether that is madara's body or not. im also not sure why he only shows one eye kinda like danzou. that seems like a fitting way to sum things up but im not sure.

As for naruto becoming hokage and sasuke killing itachi...

It wouldn't make any sense themewise for Sasuke to kill Itachi in his current state. In this story, the only real big fights and wins have come to those who were protecting someone else. In Deidara and Orochimaru's case, you could say that Sasuke may have done it to keep them out of Konoha.

Naruto becoming hokage? Possible, very possible.

Don't forget that naruto and sasuke still have to officially pass the chunnin exams.

I think it's gonna go the way of DBZ. After they've destroyed the seemingly most powerful villain in the universe, a stronger one takes its place. This will keep going on and on and on until Naruto becomes as boring as Inuyasha.

But naruto isn't built the same way as DBZ. In DBZ, the sagas were episodic - they didn't really connect to each other except by the age of the heroes. You could watch the Majin buu saga without knowing a thing about cell and still understand it.

On the other hand, that's not the case in Naruto. Once Kishi answers all the questions that he could possibly answer, than that's it. there's no more questions that he could have possibly created. and, the questions are all rooted towards something in the beginning of the story, aka. naruto's parentage, sasuke's past, kakashi's mask, etc.

i'm not sure, but naruto is very popular so it might run for a long while.

I have kinda mixed feelings about it ending...I mean, yeah, sure, it's getting really long, but there's still so many unanswered questions. Ah well, imo it's not gonna be ending any time soon.

They've still got to work out Akatsuki in general and Pain and Madara in particular. Plus Kabu-rochi-to (or whatever the heck you wanna call him) and the group that Sasuke was gathering. Also (and I'm sure this would probably be a topic for another thread, but whatever) I'm really wondering what exactly that thing the Akatsuki's putting all the Kyuubi into is...and if Madara's behind it's sealing functions, what happens if/when he dies? I'm kinda half-expecting all the Kyuubi to get out and destroy a couple countries. (There's the next, bigger, enemy imo). Anyways, basically there's way too many unanswered questions for the series to end any time soon, imo.

u kno i never thought bout dat, lik wut if all the juinchurrikin(wutever) were all captured. then somehow they all got loose and start destroyin every thing in sight, they could be the final main villian, then naruto be the only one(strongest ninja in five countries) to stop cuz he have the nine tail fox in him, the strongest Kyuubi, this could grand him the hokage title and boom naruto ends

We haven't even seen the end of the talk between Sasuke and Madara. So it could go in a new direction. There are still quite a few Akatsuki to fight. Also a fight between Sasuke and Naruto will definitely be in the end.

I don't really understand how you guys can say this manga is to long. there are many longer ones like; Cooking Papa 94 Volumes, Fighting Spirit 83 Volumes, Golgo 13 142 Volumes, and the big one Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kouen-mae Hashutsu-jo 158 Volumes. And there still going!
