I get the feeling that Naruto may be nearing the end of it's run, what do you think?

Maybe. They're about to release Naruto Part 2 in America, so there might be another time skip after this arc. Doubt it, though.

if they drag pass akatsuki, then it'll get pretty boring... but i would be surprised... >_>;; maybe they can end it normal... like TS once again, and you see naruto hokage or something? xD

I doubt Naruto would end in even a hundred chapters. I expect this to become a 500-600+ chapter manga. Think about it:

Orochimaru, Kabuto, the Nine-Tails, Naruto's goal of becoming hokage (with Tsunade on the throne, it could take a while), supporting characters not having shown their abilities since the TS, Hebi, rasengan mastery, Naruto's chakra element mastery (maybe even a second element?), Kabuto's plans, Orochimaru's threat (I highly doubt we've seen the end of him), etc..

Unless the author can manage to pull it all off by Naruto's 10th birthday, I'm pretty sure this will go for a few more years. Just go back 100 chapters (2~ years ago), the death of Sasori, long after the beginning of this arc. If it's taking as long as it is for the akatsuki arc to end, imagine how long it will take to deal with the previously mentioned (or not mentioned, as the case may be) problems.

Yeah.

The Naruto, Kyubi, Akatsuki, the Uchihas stories are starting to connect. I see the end soon. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Probably not. It's probably gonna be another Detective Conan with 80+ volumes.

It's gonna be like Dragonball Z, where the mangaka is not allowed to end the series cuz the publishers will want to milk every last dollar (or yen) out of it.

Naruto is a total money train i see kids all over the place in the States wearing shirts and head bands ever sence it started being shown on cartoon network. I really doubt the anime or the manga will stop anytime soon. Because it still hasen't reached its full money making potental.

I realy don't think it's gonna end soon..

the mangaka can probubly make up many more insane ideas to go onwith the manga..
I mean, it's such a money maker like some mensioned- like DGZ..
Naruto will probubly get more powerful and stuf, and have new enemies to fight (at least someone wil be setisfied)

But I actually think that it's near. Maybe less than 10 volumes if the mangaka picks up the pace and doesn't drag any fights out. In my opinion, it's the mangaka, not the publisher, who should have control of what's happening.

Please, look at who you talking about. the last fight that wasn't drawn out till it was almost painful was Naruto vs. Sasuke just before the time skip, and that was mainly because it was exciting, not because it wasn't a long fight. Kishi likes extending things out over mulitchapter/multivolume periods. I seriously he can close things down in 10 volume and keep the same flow and style that is his.

Imo it's hard to predict how long Naruto will continue. At least there is no ending in sight.

And yes Naruto is being milked, but it's the anime that draws 90% of the hype. The manga could have a faster pace, but compared to the really slow mangas, Naruto moves in a decent pace imo. The anime moves way too slow, and that is one of few points which makes it suck lol. 😀 😎
