Okay, I admit it. I really like my shounen sports manga. You know, the kind where all the boys are really dedicated to their sport and their team. They play hard and they play to win - they're aiming for nationals. Sports are Serious Business.

I basically want this, but with some actual, canon gayness. The characters should both be on a sports team together. The sports should be the most important part of the plot, or at least not just incidental - practices/games/whatever should have considerable screen time, and the characters should really care about it. A team sport - BL manga with sports tend to go the individual sports route, and I want to see lots of team spirit. And preferably not everyone-is-gay, though I realize that it's something many mangaka wouldn't be able to resist it.

So can anyone help me? Does this type of manga even exist outside of doujinshi?!

Oh man, that type of manga is really hard to find. I usually settle for shounen sports manga that have "brotherly bonds" and "competitive friendliness" in it. Then, I twist it to fit my own reality. 🙂
Well, I've only read one gay sports manga that I actually liked...so, try Shoubu wa Toki no... Un Daro?
