All these young whippersnappers, with their hip hop and electronica and melodically blackened Norwegian death/grind/thrash metal/metalcore. In my day.....
Well anyway, what are your guys' favorite songs that were released before 1980?
Be concise, be specific.

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Classic Jazz album. I love me some good jazz. Coltrane, anything with some rythm and groove.

For now, I have to go with Monk's Dream 😎 by Thelonious Monk, mainly because I'm on a Monk binge right now.

If Electric Light Orchestra did it in the seventies, it's good.
Most notably their album, "On The Third Day."
Also, UFO's album, "Phenomenon"
"Seichô Takeuchi-Bushi" by Takeshi Terauchi and the Bunnys, too
And let's not forget Jefferson Airplane's "Surrealistic Pillow"
Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain"
Meat Loaf's "Bat Out of Hell"
I'd never be able to pick a song....
If I had to, I'd probably go with either Bat Out of Hell (the song on the album) or Maggot Brain (the song on the album). Ocean Breakup/King of the Universe from the aforementioned ELO album is gold, too.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here - Shine On You Crazy Diamond (1975)
(And pretty much everything else of Pink Floyd 😀 ).
Oh and not to forget, ELO - Mr Blue Sky.

Rebel Rebel by David Bowie. I can't live without this song.
Ballroom of Mars by T.Rex. It's amazing.
Here There and Everywhere by The Beatles. Call it cheesy or whatever, but I get all dreamy-eyed when I hear this song. So romantic le sigh
Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads. I just can't help but sing-along to this when I hear it.
Those are just some of them. I'm tired of typing 😐
