It doesn't have to be exact, but something of that nature. By that I mean both the assassin part and the raising kid part. Can also be a killer, bounty hunter, etc. Someone in that sort of business. I'll even take vampires or demon lords picking up kids. I know I've seen that before.

You get me point, mainly looking for assassins, but I'll take others that are vaguely similar too.

I've already read:
Kimi no Knife (not very much what I'm looking for, but technically fits)
X-Kai
A Promise (Arcana)
Arachnid
Kill No More (again not what I'm looking for, but fits except it wasn't included in the story)
Luck Stealer (fits technically, but he became an assassin after and all...)
And probably more that I can't think of right now.
Until Death Do Us Part (but he isn't raising her...)

Thanks! ^^ Was reading the Arcana anthology and suddenly craved for more lol... Well, common story, oneshots just aren't enough.

Saiunkoku Monogatari is a manga, novel and an anime,

but the main character is raised by the most powerful assassin in the land, though I suppose that's a bit spoilery as that isn't really revealed until a bit later. But it's really good.

Ahaha yea, technically it fits right? Even though he's retired and all lol. I've read the manga and watched the anime though, only thing left is the novels now. Think I should go read it? XD

Word of "warning" about Leon: The Professional, the original release has a lot of stuff cut because of test audiences. If you do watch it, make sure you watch the International Version/Extended Cut.

Hm...

Demon Diary - It's been awhile since I've read this, but this demon guy takes in this a teenager to train him to be "good" evil demon lord.

Legend of the Sun Knight - I might be stretching it, but hero, the representative of the Church of the God of Light, sometimes takes advice or learns dark magic (by accident) from a necromancer. A big no-no. Apparently, she helped him a lot when he was young too. In the novels (which are translated further than the manhua right now), you learn a bit about his background (the hero isn't aware of it until later on):

As an orphan, he was originally adopted by demons/necromancers (I forgot) before entering training to become the Sun Knight

The Devil Within - The girl's father is the Demon King.

I know I've read some with assassins and stuff, but I can't remember the titles.

In Full Bloom (YON Jae-Won) is not exactly a match, but you got flashbacks telling an interesting story, that is somewhat similar to your request.

One of the main characters is a former orphan, that was taken in (and raised) by an assassin. Although the assassin didn't want her to take revenge, she started to train the child during their travels, because it sticks with that request stubbornly, driven by the emotions bound to a dramatic incident done by her targets men.

Kiba no Tabishounin - The Arms Peddler - In a (slightly westernish) post apocalyptic world a boy who lost his whole family to the bandits gets picked up by a really strong woman. She trades weapons for a living, but her ass kicking capabilities are of the scale. He wants her to teach him how to be stronger, so he can take revenge on the bandits that killed his family.

Jormungand - Again with weapon traders. I've only read 1 volume, but it seems to be more or less what you are looking for.

I actually already read most of Legend of the Sun Knight, even before the manhua came out. Remember how disappointed I was with the artist after all >.>... I liked Ya Sha's better. My brother already finished the novels and have been urging me to complete it too... been too lazy. One more volume left... I'll find time to finish it lol.

The Devil Within is on my completed list, although to be honest I have but a vague memory of it.

As for Demon Diary, I think I started reading that a long, long time ago. Dunno what how it ended up... Can't remember whether I dropped it, got tired of waiting for releases, or if I actually completed it. >.< Will go confirm! Thanks for reminding me.

As I've mentioned in the original post, I've already read both of them. Kill No More I've already finished reading too, just need to find the manhua. Actually... now that I think about it, I don't think there's any of Yu Wo's novels that I haven't read yet. Just the newer volumes that I need to catch up to.

I'm not really too eager for webtoons, but thanks!

hana to akuma is probably not exactly what your looking for. The demon does raise her but its more of a fluffy and feel good story than angsty but it is very enjoyable and sweet.

Read it, and true... not really what I'm looking for. But thanks.

Wallman - Well, the main girl isn't really a kid anymore.
