4 hours ago, I read political economy aspects of international law such my bedtime story, i just read it for 4 pages and fall asleep.... and I'll have an exam in 14 hours! T____T

I love reading regular books but I take breaks so I can wait till new books are published because I literally read EVERYTHING in the library and bookstores. I also re-read a lot of books too.

Today, it was Howl's Moving Castle. I've never seen the movie, so I though I might as well start with the book. Which so far has been pretty darn good.
I've been on a children's book kick lately. Just finished rereading The Magician's Apprentice of Narnia yesterday. If I could choose any book to read to a 5 year old, that would be the one. So unimaginably brilliant. ♥

Half way through Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood. A story about a confused university student who's struggling through the end of adolescence and major girl problems. It's like reading a biography. 😛
I also have to agree with the Narnia comment. They were the first full set of books I owned, perfect childhood reading.

Almost every single day. Why? Because I enjoy it, and because I am obliged to as an English Lit. specialist. I'm reading Evelina by Frances Burney for a Austen related course. I'm also reading some pre-18th century novels, science fiction, and some fantasy/horror stuff for various classes.

Pretty common phenomenon in Japanese literature. I'm blanking on the name for the genre (there's a particular term in Japanese), but it's [historically] been a more common practice in Japan than in most societies to write about your own life. It's dominated most of Japanese literature for the last half-century. Thank god there are a couple geniuses like Murakami that can make it worth reading. It's so easy to write an insipid novel about your own life. Or at least that's what the majority of them suggest.
The other day I polished off The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. It was probably one of the best new novels of 2010- David Mitchell does know what he's doing.
I'm currently working my way through Peeling the Onion (Gunter Grass' autobiography). Nonfiction gives me less of an incentive to read, though.
