A couple of months ago. Had to read Eric Schlosser's Fast Food Nation. It was very informative and honestly quite disturbing. I haven't viewed McDonald's the same way since.

I use to read like crazy, 900 page books in about a week or so. But ever since I started watching anime and reading manga, i've stopped reading so much. Last time i ever read a book was maybe 2 years ago, and even then it was ebb'ing down.
The closest thing to a 900 page novel that i read now are visual novel games (Tsukihime, Fate/stay night, higurashi, etc). But i stll consider those to be equivalent to novels in terms of amount read and time spent, even the philosophy in them can be equivalent to ones in great novels. Especially the mystery horror ones can be a real trip with fantastic storytelling techniques.
On a related note, does anyoen read Steven Erikson? his work is fantastic. It's like reading 4 stories at once with 4 different climax points.

Yesterday...
I love greek mythology... So I have many books about it, and once in a while I pick them up and read, like yesterday (I need new books... I'm getting sick of reading the same things over and over again...)

And the biography of Rudolf Steiner at the library.
And Homos Ludens is lying by the bed. It's about the play element of culture and society.

Today I finished Eighth Grade Bites, a vampire novel for teenage boys. I've never read the girl centered teenage vamp novels, just the boys ones, like Darren Shan, Night Runner, etc. In order of preference, Darren Shan is definitely best, next is Night Runner, last is the Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. Anyone know any other good ones?

I just read Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde. It was a cross between The Giver and 1984. 😐

I just went to library yesterday and got about 5 books and haven't even looked inside any of them because my laptop and the t.v. is keeping me glued.
Last time was probably 2 weeks ago, i'm half-way through ''Prep'' by Curtis Sittenfeld and it's one of those books you can't read in a sitting and have to read in small portions to actually appreciate it. 😮

Today, some hours ago. My father teaches literature, so my house is filled with books. When I'm bored, I choose one and start reading. Generally, I read one book/week. I'm into Sherlock Holmes now, because the movie made me remember how great were the books and then I wanted to read them again.
