The 22nd volume of Jun Mochizuki's Pandora Hearts manga announced on Saturday that the series will end in the next volume. Yen Press will publish the 21st volume in North America in July, and it describes the manga's story:

The air of celebration surrounding fifteen-year-old Oz Vessalius's coming-of-age ceremony quickly turns to horror when he is condemned for a sin about which he knows nothing. He is thrown into an eternal, inescapable prison known as the Abyss from which there is no escape. There, he meets a young girl named Alice, who is not what she seems. Now that the relentless cogs of fate have begun to turn, do they lead only to crushing despair for Oz, or is there some shred of hope for him to grasp on to?

Mochizuki launched the series in Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine in 2006. The manga inspired a television anime by Xebec in 2009, and NIS America released it on DVD. Broccoli Books had licensed the manga series, but did not actually publish it before shutting down in North America in 2008.

I think I might cry. cry I've spent years of my life with this series, and it's really changed me as both a writer and a human being. I'm glad it's not going to drag on forever -- I'd hate that -- but I'm still going to miss the heck out of it once it's over. I just hope she can wrap everything up in only a few chapters. But I trust her. (I really shouldn't since she's hurt my heart before, but I do. dead Stockholm syndrome, perhaps? laugh )

At the same time, I'm excited to see what MochiJun comes up with for her next series! :'D

I have mixed feelings about this... I want it to end, because I want to know the end... but I want it to last because it will be so sad when it comes to an end.
This is probably the best manga I've read, and surely is one of the best stories too, it's just too good to be said in words. But well, it's still not over, so I must not mourn just yet. And goats I musnt mourn at all, a story can only come to be if it ends. And yes, I hope the ending can cope with the whole story... but as said above, I trust Mochizuki sensei, she's a freaking genius.
