Honse's Martial Arts Capabilities [Spoiler]

Just wondering what you guys are thinking about this. My personal opinion is that he's playing possum in some manner, and is in the process of rebuilding his ki channels. I actually really want to see him at full power somewhere in the series, even if they have to skip back in time.
(Basing all my opinions on the fact that Honse is a freakin genius at creating martial arts techniques).

I would like to think he's somehow gonna make a come back, but I think he probably really did destroy them irreversibly.

Yeah, i agree he's hiding something, but i don't know what exactly. Although even if he wasn't able to restore his Ki channels, he may be quite powerful without them (it was said chapter ago that Vera could win against level 7 without using any sort of energy), so he could create a non-energy style designed to fight Ki styles. Like that half-step technique, simple yet really effective.

I think so aswell.
just as CotWoAU pointed out he is a freaking genius when it comes to martial arts techniques. and just as mildgreen says, Vera could win against high levels without the use of ki.
Now I think it very possible that honse has studied the strenghts and weaknesses of ki based martial arts and come up with a possible counter art for those who do not have sufficient ki.
The likely way to do this is through the use of pressure points.
hitting certain areas of the body to distort the flow of ki would be a very effective way to fight ki users.
What you need then is extreme precision, speed, control and an incredible knowledge of the human body.
But I think Honse may very well have created such an art.
Do but despise reason and science,
The highest of all human gifts -
Then you have surrendered to the Devil
And must surely perish. - J.W. von Goethe

Instead of destroying it i believe he just sealed his martial arts by temporary blocking his ki channels because Gangryong foreshadows it by asking Honse if it was possible to do so and he hesitant to answer so he must have done it before...but this is just my own opinion.

hmmm... I'm not so sure about him faking destroying them. After all, Vera did confirm herself that they were completely destroyed... although that in itself poses the quesiton how she could tell if she couldn't use ki herself... although I have to say that's just reminded me that she diagnosed Gangryong as a hopeless case with clogged up ki channels when he first arrived, and has since been proven wrong, so she doesn't know everything....
also, I read chapter 40 again where he suggests artificially blocking ki points. In the translation I read, Honse doesn't hesitate before responding, he just advises strongly against it.
The way they translate the next bit saying "to attempt such a superior technique with an unaccustomed body is really crazy" though, does kinda suggest you could use a lower level technique with an accustomed body... 😉

I imagine they were blocked as far as anyone is concerned. The only way he can fight again is if he were to train in E.O.T.L. Seeing as he is hanging around Gangryoung constantly, Honse could easily have observed the training techniques. Hell, he could even be spying for Reunion for just that purpose. Of course that could all just be my paranoid ramblings and he really is one of the few stand up guys in this pot full of angst filled teenagers.

So because this says spoiler, I will post a spoiler here.
Honse: I challenge you, Vera Linus.
There, I said it. This is either a gambit so that Honse can die in some stupendous manner (I doubt this), or he
has regained much of his power, in addition to learning the fundamentals of Gangryong's power after helping Gangryong train to level 9+ (the plus I put there just to indicate that Gangryong is either equal or above most level 9's at the moment in the manga).
My sources are the monthly chapters that I read until about six months ago - six more chapters have been released, so I may not even be completely up to date.

I think that his ki channels were really destroyed and that he isn't able to use it anymore. But I do believe that he could fight using some method he's devised. After all, he's the genius that's figured out how many techniques work and how to use them. If only gangryong listened to him...

WOOOOO
Major spoilage
Hah, I always knew it, I bet he did keep the ginsing, and on top of training for the last 4 years he's finally good to go. I always knew he was going to be an ultra-badass at some point, I can't wait to see what his fighting style is. I haven't been this pumped about a shounen character's coming out party since Madarame in Bleach had his. I just about stood up and cheered when I saw the final page of the most recent chapter.
