This very simple poll was suggested by Karonhioktha. It's pretty self-explanatory

You can submit poll ideas here
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Is the first chapter enough to know if you'll like a series?
Choices:
Never, I always need multiple chapters - votes: 796 (15.1%)
Nah, barely ever - votes: 1018 (19.3%)
50/50 chance - votes: 1931 (36.6%)
Yes, most of the time - votes: 1414 (26.8%)
Yeah, always - votes: 110 (2.1%)
There were 5269 total votes.
The poll ended: September 8th 2018

Gotta rope you in with that first chapter! It's like how the opening sentence of the book needs to grab the attention of the reader.

The ones I find on Pixiv. I don't really use Twitter. I rarely use social media, but if I find an author I like, I'll follow him/her, though I don't check on them often to see if something new is out.

I don't really follow anyone on social media. Though i do visit their websites sometimes. And then can't read a thing because don't know any kanji.

Yeah I follow some on twitter. Mostly the ones that like to post little doodles and stuff. I follow a few Japanese artists for the same reason, and half my feed is text I can't even read lmao. It's worth it for the images though. I follow em if I really like their art style so it's always a treat to see a doodle or two pop up.

Now that I think of it, is pixiv even considered a form of social media?
Judging from previous posts, it seems I overestimated the social media trend. Not a lot of people, including me, use any form of it. As such, I'm one of many in the "No" group.

Edit.
Admittedly though, I will occasionally check some artists' twitter pages. I just don't have an account.

I've been following Tsukushi Akihito on pixiv for a long time and recently started following him on twitter. It's nice to see some art updates.

He's probably my favorite artist. I had so much of his work and didn't even know it was him. When I played Elebits years ago on my Wii and saw the art I was like "Huh this seems so familiar" and looked it up and it was the guy I'd had artwork used for desktop wallpapers.

Yes, and now my Twitter is filled with Japanese I can't read haha. (I also follow some artists on Tumblr, and most seem to treat it as a purely art portfolio space, so that's a bit more manageable.)

On that note, I know we have a space for an author's facebook link on their profiles here, but wouldn't it be better to change that to Pixiv? I can't think of a single mangaka I know of that keeps a public, official facebook anymore.

Interestingly I've heard of a few artists blocking western sounding names or ones using english characters in their names after they been following them on Twitter.
