does gintama have a main story?

i remember i read it when it just come out and it like all cheap jokes and filler story so i stop after that....if anyone reading gintama please tell me on what vol does the main story start?

I think Gintama doesn't have main story.
Im gonna agree with Sijy, don't follow the story (in Anime) not unless its interesting like Yato clan clash arc.
I highly enjoy the characters a-lot! 😀

oh, ok thanks guys! guess gintama is not for me ;/ graphic is first for me and it's artwork is so so, not even that good so next thing is i need is a good story. another thing is it's jokes...not my kinda jokes XD
