Depends... some of my favorites, had bad cover art compared to its real artwork. But then others, look amazing, but end up being crap. But yes, I judge mange by its artwork, but not just the cover, but usually a random skimming of the first volume/chapter.

I judge by cover sometimes, like if there is a naked and perverted person on the cover I can safely assume its a porno.

I used to but now I look at the review and summary
I don't judge it by the art anymore

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"

i cant really read that may mangas that dont have good art. i can sometimes read a manga with a bad story, depends on how bad it is, but i cant read a book with bad art and a good storyline. i do have exceptions rarely, but it better be a damn good storyline.

I usually read descriptions but even those can be misleading

yes i do, i judge the manga by its cover but i also read the description.
if the art is bad (disturbing), even though it's interesting... i won't read it.
but if the story is really good... (such as One Piece in early series, well...i don't mind lesser art...)

Yes because the manga's cover tells you what kind of artist they are and if it's bad I'll just chuck it into the trash can... and then pick it up again and read it when I'm bored 😳

I think the cover is important. i know they say you should not judge a book by it's cover but the first impression counts . if something is appealing the chances are higher that you check it out further.
I think the story is important but when i like the authors style i will read it even if the story is really bad. the art does matter and the cover is part of it. But it's true that sometimes you can be misguided by the cover

I try to read the description before I make any kind of solid decision. I almost passed up on 'One Piece' because I thought the cover was too gawdy and cluttered. Had I not read the synopsis, I would have missed out on one of my favorite series of all time.

Ususally, even if the cover art is bad, I'll still read it, then I'll end up liking it.

But sometimes, the cover art is good, but the art for the actual manga is bad, so I stop reading it.

Of cause. look it's not a novel, manga's have art in it, and even if the plot is brilliant and the art is crappy i won't read it. If you have a good art and plot Why have a bad cover?

when it comes to anything containing graphic art it is important to have a brilliant cover-art because it gives the reader an indication of what the standard and quality of art is like inside or the lest it has to do it capture an audience's attention and long enough to allow them to read the synopsis to see if the plot concept is good.
If i am reading a novel i would mainly read the synopsis.
