Hi, guys, I found this article that talks about Fei Tian Ye Xiang, the author of the BL historical fantasy stories "Dinghai fusheng lu" and "Tianbao fuyao lu" and the BL low fantasy "Luan Shi Wei Wang" and one of the few male writers of Chinese BL fiction, aka Danmei fiction.
The articles points out how he avoids the cliched feminization of the uke or the seme present in modern Danmei series as he depicts both seme and uke characters as masculine and realistic homosexual men, his allusions to traditional Chinese poetry and literature and his love for history.

It's so refreshing to read danmei that feels grounded in that kind of scholarly, intellectual tradition, rather than just the usual tropes. Fei Tian Ye Xiang is clearly a very talented and thoughtful writer. I'm always excited to see what new historical fantasy or low fantasy world he'll craft next!

Thank you for article!
I love the progress and expansion of the genre, and the recognition of authors that care about their work.
I am a trash goblin, and unapologetically consume cliched dog-blood novels.
And I rejoice when I find a delectable morsel of gourmet fare.
I blame my early years reading of Barbara Cartlands and Harlequins BG before finding the good stuff.
It is not a feature/fault of BL only to have cliches and tropes and unrealistic characters, but of ALL romance (BG/GL)
I acknowledge and recognize them and enjoy them.
And when I find an author who cares, I search for their entire catalog, and the stories are reread till almost memorized.
P.S. JJWXC with in-browser translation is getting more and more coherent, with some passages so beautiful or heartbreaking that I cried.
And I’m directly supporting the authors!
P.P.S. As this is MANGAupdates, not NOVELupdates, I’ll close with the lament that in-browser translation is not yet feasible for images to read the raw manhua/hwa/ga panels easily.
