Yes Kdrama and Chinese do adapt manhwa and manhua into movies and TV series but mostly romances (Hana Yori Dango, Full House, Hana Kimi, Goong). But I know there is a kdrama version of Jin (the doctor who travels back to ancient japan) except I beleive they changed it to joseon instead of edo. Idk if Honorable Baek Dong Soo drama came first or the manhwa.
Popular these days for kdramas is webtoons and light novels. Chinese dramas are doing more light novel adaptations.

Well, that explains why I haven't heard of any Kdramas adaptations, then. I hate live-action romances with a passion 🤢 Weird 'cos I don't have a problem with anime, manga or novel couples, but seeing them being acted out by real people... Shudders
Thanks for the info, btw! I had no idea Chinese dramas did LN's, though frankly popular Chinese LN's aren't to my taste at all. Some of the more niche ones aren't bad, though.
Jin got 2 adaptations. One is a J-drama and one a K-drama. Honey and Clover got a Taiwanese drama, so did Mars. I mentioned the K-drama for City Hunter and there is a Chinese film too. Then there is... The one thing they all have in common is the mediocre quality and that usually more than 1 adaptation exists if a country outside of Japan got involved. Gonna spread the misery and Korea is now even putting webtoons on tv!
Bewildering non-US foreign market adaptations are nothing new too. Married with Childern and Breaking Bad had their scripts repurposed nearly 1 to 1 for such. Cheers (nearly ?) got an Irish adaptation 3 decades later, 😕 . And how about all these crappy Marvel anime.
I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.
