Kishimoto must have been re-reading Dragonball lately...
Anyway, this was a touching chapter, and it seems that Naruto's dark side is starting to come out a bit more...
Must be slow on the site today if I was able to make threads for all of the big 3...

Ah not bad. I was worried the flashback was going to take long, but it was short and to the point.
Good good.
I'm glad to see some stupid moments still exists as well. It wouldn't be Naruto without a silly comment 🤣

I'm not gonna lie: I LOL'd when Naruto started his Therapy Speech no Jutsu and Yamato had to point out it was the squid he was talking to. For once, Naruto couldn't use his Hallmark card crap to get him out of a fight.
And what's this? Naruto actually questioning the villagers' sincerity?! Thank god. This is a GOOD and REALISTIC thing for him to be doing Kishimoto, don't mess things up and immediately negate it by having Naruto decide all the villagers are really great & awesome people who can all be taken at face-value. Not only isn't that how human nature works, it's not very ninja-like, OK?

I'm just glad that the back story to Bee didn't take too long and we can get right to Naruto trying to control the Kyuubi. I'm also kind of glad that the whole Dark Naruto thing didn't take too long either. I'm not really a fan of the "fighting the evil side of you for x amount of chapters only to emerge the victor anyways"

I feel like the manga is leaning a little to the endless shounen loop of fighting and training a la dragonball. It's a good training sequence however.
I'm looking forward to seeing Naruto get in touch with the kyuubi. Otherwise chapter 494 was not much fun, almost nothing happened. I wanna see Naruto x Kyuubi relations, not Naruto fighting the dark side of the force inside him.
