He enrolls in the school to get used to this life, but then he is hit with realization. He does not want to fight evil, his dearest ambition is to enter the tournament run by the school and punch rainbow-haired high-school girls.

Mucking around in his grandfather's attic, Hikaru Shindo finds an old goban with a stain on it. As soon as he touches it, an apparition manifests itself. It introduces itself as - wait for it - Ryuk.
The Go-shinigami Ryuk makes Hikaru play Go and also tells him that if he writes anyone's name on the goban he will die of a heart attack.
Will Shindo rise o the top of the Go world by playing or by eradicating those before him?
