Hullo everyone!

I'm an editor from GHS (Gekkoukan High Scans) and we need more hands to undertake our new manga project, Moyashimon!

Moyashimon is a manga series by Masayuki Ishikawa with a TV anime adaptation directed by Yuichiro Yano. The series follows Tadayasu Sawaki, a first-year college student at an agricultural university, who has a unique ability to see and communicate with micro-organisms and bacteria. It's a very unique and interesting manga. There has also been quite some demand to have the manga translated, and so after some probing of our staff, we have decided to undertake it as our new project.

We are currently in need of translators, editors, typesetters, and QCers.

Translators: Their job will be to provide a Japanese to English translation of the manga script. Be warned, Moyashimon's dialog is quite difficult since it deals with Scientific terms. There is also no furigana used.

Editors: Removes the Japanese text and sound effects from the raw scans. We now remove Japanese sound effects, so knowing how to redraw backrounds is a plus, though not required. We are also working with high quality scans for this project, so little to no leveling or resizing will be needed. As the project goes on however, we may need to start using magazine scans, which may require resizing, rotating, and leveling. You must also obviously have an image editing program to undertake this job.

Typesetters: Places the translated script onto the cleaned scans. Any knowledge of Japanese is appreciated for this job because you may have to proofread the script and check for mistakes in the translation. You may also need to know how to manipulate text fonts to replicate the look of the JP SFX.

Quality Checkers: Just as the name suggests, you will look over the finished product, and make sure it is coherent and presentable. If you have experience in either of th above jobs, it could come in handy for this one.

You do not have to have any experience in scanlating to apply for any of the above positions! As long as you think you can handle it, go for it. We have a small staff right now, so we need all the help we can get to undertake Moyashimon, in addition to our other project, Persona 3.

If you'd like to join up for any of the above positions, please contact me either through email (detectivearr@hotmail.com)(detectivelunches@gmail.com) or AIM (DetectiveLunches). Our homepage is located here.

Again, we'd appreciate all the help we can get, so don't be shy!
