I picked Slow Releases. If there's a huge gap in between chapters, then I kinda lose the momentum that was going on through the last chapter and I, consequently, lose interest. If I see that it's been a while since a series came out, I won't even start it.

Actually, I've never really dropped a manga for the above reasons (mostly thanks to the list feature)...though I've put some on hold for some of those reasons...

The times this has happened--that I've really dropped it vs. a hold that I'm not really planning on reading for a while (but keep it on the list so I don't forget and reread and more importantly, if the series is bad, I like to finish it asap so I can put it on completed list and never have to think of it's awfulness ever again) has been b/c:

The art/scenes/story SCARED me (too hentai or too much information)...

I forgot about the series (that I was reading or ever read it or it's name or that it/the likes of it even existed)...

The closest thing on the list (for my circumstances/experiences), I guess is the story turning bad...

There should be an option for "It made my retinae bleed and brain scream with its stupidity from the very beginning."

Usually because the story was turning badly or because the series just kept going on and on.
Didn't even attempt to read Naruto because even the anime dragged on and on. As well as Bleach.

i voted "it got boring/lost interest" but thts not the only reason, another reason is "series jus kept goin on and on"

Story was turning bad. I mean even if it gets boring I keep on reading, but some ya just gotta drop. The series just keeps on going on and on isn't that big of a deal with me considering I'm reading both HnI and Detective Conan lol.

the slow releases made me forget about the manga altogether and when i picked it up again i had to reread the whole thing over again to remind me what happened.

the other reason is that it got boring

I would drop a series if keeps going on without a conclusion, the plot of the story turns bad, or if simply was getting boring.

'Nuff said.

It got boring for the most part, but I also drop series if the story turns bad/the series just drags... forever.

I seriously rarely dropped a manga...I only put it on hold since I feel pity and a bit of a loss, if I dropped it....I'm the same with Abiogenesis xD
just to quickly get over with it...and put it in the complete list
so, the most reason why I put it oh hold/dropped is because I lost interest

Some series just go bad over time...
Although there are one volume long series that I drop as well, simply because they don't suit my taste.
Sometimes the art is too ugly, sometimes the story is 😐 .

Like VK. It had vampires, and reasonable art...
But it just wasn't good...
I can sometimes get over bad art, but not bad story...
Goong for example.... It started out well, but then even the art became scary...~

Or naruto. I uesed to kind of like it, but then I lost interest.

Probably the first option, (and the second...)

I just wonder who'd drop a manga for slow releases...

So you dropped a series and don't wanna read it anymore? Why? What series?

recently? i guess hunter x hunter

reasons

its release schedule was strange, the drawing goes from bad to good to bad, and i cant stand the new narrative way of explaining the story.

i dont often drop series so... i got nothing else.

There are a few manga that I dropped. One of them is Naruto, because I lost interest in it and I felt that the storyline went nowhere (I don't know when it happened though).

It varies greatly. I might just not have the time, become bored with the plot, or just generally feel that it's not worth the effort, but the most common culprit is failed storytelling (which admittedly usually leads to two of the previously mentioned circumstances). If a mangaka can't write well, what's the point in reading their work? Art alone can only carry a story so far.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...
