[Terribly sorry if this is a repeat of another thread/topic/whatever its called xD]

Ive been reading manga for little over two years now and have read many genres over those two years, but I always seem to go back to romantic comedies, or action comedies, and for some reason, I like reading Harem 😛 I dont know why, but I always find myself coming back to those genres 😀 I think it may be because its not taken as seriously and I always like to laugh, and I dont deal well with drama cause I usually end up getting all teary eyed and stuff, and then its awkward to explain why youve been crying too... 😛

SO! This is basically two questions, "What do you read?" and going a little further, "Why do you read those?"

Im curious to see what people have to say! 😀

The main genre I read in is shoujo and josei. I like the romance. I won't deny that I hate the cliches and whinning, cry-babies who all too often appear in this genre, but it's relatively easy to find a manga that isn't too over cliched or annoying.
I read sports mangas. I don't know why, but I enjoy them (I totally didn't expect to when I read Prince of Tennis, but I was hooked ^^)
Shounen is fine, as long as there's a cool main character who isn't a whimp, and there isn't any fan service or over the top romance. I like to keep genres seperate (not that I don't enjoy a sub-plot of romance but it irritates me if it affects the plot too much)

I keep away from tragedies because I'm really empathatic with characters and cry way too easily. Like Area no Kishi which made me cry my heart out. Embarrasing.

I like reading Comedy because I like funny stuff and it interests me.
I also read Shounen because I like violence type's of manga, seeing who is the strongest out of a bunch of mentioned strong people just seems cool to me.

I like drama, but only if it's connected to comedy. Seems like I'm a sentimental person 🤣 but if there's no comedy it's just too much and I can't take it. (it's nerv-wracking sometimes ^^)

Oh yeah and I looove fantasy, because I'm too much of a dreamer. and in fantasy everything is possible, so basically the authors might never run out of ideas 😕 maybe xD
