My name is Ominae and I am running a new group called Balikatan Group Scans. The group is created with the objective to translate shounen and seinen manga/manhwa/manhua that are either not done or are abandoned for a long time. Currently, I'm recruiting for the following positions, but the following positions are needed to with great urgency before we can start working.
- Typesetter (URGENT)
- Japanese/Korean/Chinese (Traditional) to English translator (URGENT)
- Proofreader
- Cleaner
You don't have to be experienced by the way. But I'll say that the more experienced you are, the less time I need to train/tell you what to do and what not to do.
For questions and inquiries, please reply here. I'll PM you the titles that the group will work on in case you want to know about.

I can typeset manga
I can also proofread the english translation
I'll do any type of manga, but I prefer shounen.
Good art works too. That doesn't matter; I'll do it even if the art sucks and the plot sucks, because I loooove doing this stuff

Great. Are you experienced in typesetting and proofreading?

May I apply for the proofreading position? I am a translator and I am fluent in Greek , English and Italian. Translating and proofreading is what I do. I love manga and I absolutely HATE IT when I see spelling and grammar mistakes .....it ruins the whole experience for me. If you have a proofreading test for me, I am willing to take it.

I can take you on. How long are you fluent in English?

I passed my English proficiency exam when I was 16 and then graduated from an American High school. So the answer is "more than 10 years".

Great.
I need to ask one more thing to clear things up out of interest. Did you study in America under an exchange program and which state did you go to?
Otherwise, I'll further contact you here on recruiting you for the group.

No, I didn't go to the States. My father worked in Italy for about 5 years and there was no Greek School. I had to choose between an American and an Italian High School [since I am fluent in both languages]. I chose the American one.
Ok, I'll be waiting

Hello, I would be interested in translating from Japanese to English. I am a native English speaker and have taken over a year of college level Japanese. The only thing that I am not fluent in is Kanji but most shonen use furigani so that should be fine. I would like to get started ASAP so let me know!

Do you have a list of projects you're interested in?

@Zovers and Teishou
- One of them's Dancing Policeman and it's being worked on. I can probably send you the link via PM so as not to flood it with spammers.

I can typeset and I have a bit of experience. I'm only interested in working on seinen titles. Can you PM the list?
