disabilities...
I don't wanna be a jerk, but I'm the only one who finds this topic offensive to people with disabilities?
They're not powers that you get or choose, they are disabilities that some people unfortunately are born with, and it doesn't seem considerate to me thinking of them as something you can choose.
I don't want to start a flame or something, just stating a point.

so if became blind i wouldnt see the beauty of the world...
Beauty is not only discerned visually.
In many ways, the world becomes much more beautiful and much more ugly when you are blind.
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

You could say the same about the "Would you rather be raped or murdered" topic, and others that deal with bad situations. If you're always worried about offending people then you'll never get to discuss some interesting things, like, in the case of this topic, learning where people's priorities lie.
Personally, I'd rather be mute. Although I'm sure it's a difficult thing to deal with, it would also save me the trouble of having unnecessary conversations with people.

I'd rather have no emotions. Went through a time when I felt nothing, and life may not have been as interesting, but at least there was no chance of an emotional breakdown or getting stressed out.

I rather be mute. Yes, I like talking a lot, but I can go without it. I can't go without music, or hearing the voice that I love. I can't go without art, and I am not willing to give up the feeling of touching, or the little emotion I have.

Actually I wish people pay for each said word. So many unnecessary questions and statements. I grew to not answer obvious and idle questions. Wonder what my parents think about me ignoring them.
So let's be mute.

Mute, definitely; much easier to live a relatively "normal" life than any of the others.
I'd miss my voice, but not as much as I'd miss sight, hearing, etc.

i love music, so i can't be deaf
i love the world, so i can't be blind
i love to sing, so i can't be mute
i love to feel, so i can't have no feelings
i love to cry, laugh, love, and hate, so i can't have no emotions
i love life, so i can't not live
i pick......rather not to live, for my life is depended on everything else

No sense of feel.
Useful. : D
Yeah~
Though I did saw this documentary of a girl who broke her spine, but she had no feeling, she felt no pain. Therefore, she didn't find out about it until one week later. All she heard was creaking, and the inability to stand straight. o_____o

Oh?
I thought I commented already~
Anyways, I chose "not to live"
Besides not seeing life as anything special, I rather not live than to be unable to enjoy myself of all that life has to offer.
The "not speak not hear not see" has crossed my mind many times.
I always though I would rather be mute.
But well, not being alive is also a good alternative.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

This.
I would never, ever want to lose my sense of smell as I just found out that is important when it comes to tasting flavors. I love eating too much for that to happen. 😃
