So last night I was laying in bed, bored as hell and unable to sleep when I started pondering about who would win if there was some sort of war. The opponents were humans, vampires and werewolves. I couldn't come up with an answer so I'm enlisting your help. Who do you think would win?

it depends on what their abilities are, their location at the start of the war, their numbers, and the male:female ratio.
But I guess humans would win in the end.

Assuming the premise of the war was to totally wipe out the other two groups, Vampires would lose by default simply due to needing Human blood.

That brings it down to Humans and Werewolves. Werewolves (generally) are fewer in number than humans, and have major weaknesses. I place my bet on Humans.

Now then, assuming at the start of the war the Vampires found a way to get around needing Human blood. That changes things. Using mind-control (which most all Vampires have), Vampires could control the humans and use them to wipe out the Werewolves, then the Humans.

Alternatively, again assuming the Vampires had a way around needing human blood, the Vampires and Werewolves could, if they made a truce, wipe out humanity together than deal with each other. . .

Like Whatnot said, it really does come down to variables:

Powers/Abilities of Vampires, Werewolves, and Humans
Numbers of each at the start of the war.
Male:Female ratio. Though that perhaps would not matter much except for Humans, Werewolves and Vampires are generally MUCH stronger than humans.

Along with Male:Female ratio however, how long does each group take to reproduce? For instance, keeping standard Human reproduction period of 9 months (+10-15 years for the new generation to be able to fight), how long do the other two take?

Depending on story, Vampires can't reproduce, they do however, turn all they bite into Vampires. Same with werewolves. Assuming that both groups can however. You could say Vampires take 2.5 years or so (+5-10 years to be able to fight due to they're capabilities), and werewolves take 3 years (+ another 3 years to be able to fight due to insane physical capabilities).

By those scenarios, if the counts were even enough, the win would probably default to Werewolves. Simply due to 6 years for a new generation to be able to fight, vs 11-16 for humans, and 7.5-12.5 for vampires.

Technological level comes into play as well. But, this is too long a post already.

Human will victorious
while the other race seem superior in physical ability they have much weakness on other hand human doesnt have any weakness at all and the scary thing about human is:

  1. human make babies like a fucking cockroach
    2.human active 24/7
3.human dont care about moon or sun for super power
4.human adaptive ability so frightening that the can survive any condition simply just give them enough time 😎 😎 😎

I'm gonna have to go with werewolves. They can blend in with humans better than vampires. They can go out in sunlight without disadvantages. They have super strength and advanced healing.

Humans will eventually destroy themselves anyway and once the dust settles a werewolf would be more capable of surviving in the wild after society breaks down. Sure they have their weaknesses but their advantages far outweigh their weaknesses.

I SAY ZOMBIES WIN ALL!!! Sorry, just a little joke. Reason for this is that Magic the Gathering new expansion basically revolves around Humans, Zombies, Vampires, and Werewolves at the moment, so could not help myself. To all MTG fans that see this post, long live the PLANESWALKERS!!

This thread is impossible to complete, since the powers, abilities, numbers etc of the vampires and werewolves is not established.
OP should have stated "in the Harry Potter world", "in the Underworld movies", "In the Twilight series", in Magic the Gathering... etc etc.

According to some science fiction sources I read, Vampirism is a variant of Rabies disease and Lycanthropy is also some from of virus. In this case, human kind would find a "cure" retrovirus and spread it across the world...

I agree that it needs to be established what each group's abilities are since every movie, book, etc likes to come up with different rules.

But in general I would have to say vampires would win. Unlike werewolves that usually only turn once a month during the full moon, vamps always have their powers. And of course vamps would most likely be able to defeat the humans. Even with their weaknesses, they are better than humans because they are stronger and have the ability to practice mind control. The only thing with vamps is that they wouldn't be able to completely annihilate humans. They would need to keep their food source. So they would have to imprison the human race instead.

Oh, so you're in for the team shark boy?

My guess was werewolves would win.
They can exist among humans without looking fishy,
they have brute force and are far more primal than vampires,
therefore better at surviving without specific surroundings.

Humans always, because vampires and werewolves are humans too 😛 .

Well, supernatural/fiction aside, it all depends on which version of werewolves and vampires you are talking about.
Though I'd have to say, in an all out war the humans would be the deciding factor (source of new "recruits" and life-force/food).
Whereas the vampires are dependent on humans to sustain (un)life, werewolves could easily do without. Meaning vampires could only really fight the werewolves whilst having to make sure they don't kill too many humans, werewolves can kill both (especially humans, turning them where they go). -> Larger vampire "armies" are harder to sustain than werewolf packs.
Of course, this would be assuming it's not a war between factions but between racial groups.

Then again, I see no reason for war or even animosity (don't understand why it's such a popular trope).

Seriously, though, how come people think humans are to emerge victorious?

It is like this:

Vampires > Werewolves > Humans

Just because vampires can not go out in the sunlight, it does not make them weak. In fact, the vampires in Fortune Arterial & twilight are not affected negatively by day-time exposure to begin with; they are strong, cool, good-looking, smart, calculating, & confident. As for needing blood, they could always imprison their food or hunt it down. Everyone needs to consume/eat/drink something in order to survive.

Werewolves only attack in packs, & even then the cowards in the past could barely defeat a lone vampire after suffering heavy losses & ganging up on him/her.

Humans always lose in one-on-one combats. Whenever there is a war with another species that is smarter than apes (or apparently even just as smart), people are the ones screaming for help.
