I've been told I have a good voice, but I just don't like singing. I usually only sing when I'm alone.

I don't have that great a voice, I have a small range and I can't carry at tune, but that doesn't stop me from singing whenever I feel like it. Sometimes, like when I'm in band, it's loud an obnoxious, but usually it's just quietly to myself or a tad lower than the music is playing.

Generally I only sing around close friends/family or in large groups (like in church or in a choir), though I have been known to threaten my kids with singing the Veggie Tales theme song in the grocery store (on the principle of "you embarrass me, I'll embarrass you"). 😁

How is that embarassing? When I was in band, that was my group's theme song. We'd sing it at the football games, on the bus, after practice and even in the middle of the cafeteria during lunch.

I sing along with just about anything I'm listening to, provided that I know it well enough. I'm not a good singer; I don't really care if anyone hears me.

only when i'm in the mood for it and my vocal chord feels comfy. any other time, i'd do it while changing my voice or the way i sing it just for the heck of it so i can laugh at myself.

well, I hardly sing because I seriously suck. I don't hate singing, it's just that I have a really high pitched voice, so I'm never low enough. Also, I'm in band and our little rule is like: "I can't sing because I'm in band, so that's I use an instrument to make the music"...yeah, pretty much everybody in my band program can't sing for crap, we have the instrument doing the work....by work I mean just the sound

That is so true of band. Our band, even though we hae people that can sing, will completely sing Happy Birthday out of tune/with wrong notes on someone's birthday complete with a banging percussion section and an epic gong.

Well when you're around 8-12 years old evidently it's pretty darn embarrassing as they are visibly horrified by the mere idea (not that we ever see anyone we know in the grocery store, but whatever). Sadly it's mostly an empty threat now because I've mostly forgotten the words. 😔

Because of that statement, your post is defunct. Sorry.

And one doesn't simply learn how to rap.
