The author is Korean so this should be a Manhwa right?
Or is there some other requirement that determines Manga or Manhwa?

Im not sure but i think it depends on the country in which it is published. So Freezing is published in japanese magazine hence its manga not manhwa. And one more thing- I could be wrong but i think Im not 😉

Right. As they say, it was, and still is originally published in a Japanese magazine and you read it right to left.

It's manga; doesn't matter the nationality of the author. If you use that logic, Felipe Smith's been drawing comics all this time.
