My parents were 37 and 40. Kinda seems lucky that I made it... 😐

Generally speaking I'd say anywhere between ~22-35 is probably ideal; avoids most of the problems of moms being too young (not yet physically or mentally mature, etc.) and too old (increased chances of birth defects, less energy, etc.). Of course that's just in general, it really depends on the individual.

Quote from Goldphool

When women who are over 35 years old get pregnant they have to have amniotic fluid drawn out with a HUGE syringe and tested to check on the baby… every month.

I'm pretty sure the amnio is a one-time thing, and while it's not exactly fun, it's really not that bad (I've had it done). Also, it's optional, the pregnant woman can always decline to have it done.

My parents were 27 (mom) and 33 (dad) when they had their first (my brother); my mom was 29 when she had her last (me) but my dad was 51 when his youngest was born (half-brother from a different marriage). My mom's parents were around 22 & 24 when she was born - they had four kids in five years. 😲 (My great aunt had five kids in four years... 😲 😲 ) My dad's parents were 33 (his mom) and 51 (his dad) when he was born, but his mom had a 10-year-old and his dad had a 20-year-old from previous marriages.

I was 24 when my boys were born & overall I think it's a good age to have kids. 😃

I would say 25-30, but if you want to make sure you get at least a couple kids then maybe earlier, around 20-25.

My mother was around 41 when I was born, and my dad around 53. I still have brothers younger than me, a nephew that is 1 month younger than me, and a little 2 years old grandniece! Kinda went off topic there 🤣

my dad was 53-ish while my mom was 40-ish when they had me...it's a miracle that my mom hadn't even went through menopause yet...if she did... 🤢

i think around 30-35 is good...i don't want kids, though if i ever for some strange reason decide to have kids, then i'd wanna have at least 10 years of freedome in a relationship without the responsibility of being a parent...

ps: lol tsuto, seems like we're both cases of miraculous fertilization 🤣

Age doesn't matter, what really matters is the person has to be psychologically prepared....

Well, it does matter if the woman can't get pregnant
anymore and if the man's wood is like a slug.

That's why there is adoption, right? But Lezama does have a point - just because your body is ready doesn't mean you are.

Well, you sort of lose yourself when you have
a child... just look at those parents and how
foolish and obsessed they can be.

Yes, there are some that completely throw themselves into their children's lives, but there are others that just have children and then don't care for them other than to show off.

I don't think you ever mentioned when you want a child, Mams.

I don't see any specific age.
I guess that I'd have it when I accidentally have one.

You don't have a vague timeframe or even a point you want towait for until trying? Although, I suppose since you said 'accident', you might mean you aren't going to try for it or prevent it, but just let it happen.

25-30 in my opinon is a good age to have kids. Second choice would be 30-35, but I feel that it's a bit old...

Quote from Dr. Love

I'm the oldest, and my mom was 22 when she had me, while my father was 25. So I have relatively young parents.

Young? Ha, that's nothing. My parents where nineteen when I was born and sixteen when my sister was born, who actually had a miscarriage at fifteen. My MawMaw was... sixteen, I think, when she had my mom, then my was a few years later. My aunt actually didn't have a child until she was thirty.

Whoa, that's young! O_O

Parents had me when they're 28. I'll prolly have (adopt) mine when I'm in my 30s.

Don't know when the ideal age is... having kids is scary, don't think you can fully prepare for it. Depends on the person, I guess.

I agree 100%. I hate it when the media and random people try to find bad things about someone that's pregnant (i.e. teenage girls), and yet don't even know them that well to judge them in the first place. For all they know, a 14-year-old girl that they saw on the news could be more mentally prepared then a woman they know who is 36 and wants a 4th child.

I'm another one of those "it's not about the number" people. It's time to have kids after you've met the right person and gotten married. I'm assuming if you're ready for that, when both of you decide you're ready for kids, you're as ready for them as possible.
My parents were both 25 when I was born (I'm the oldest) and 30 when their baby was born. However, both of my grandmas were several years younger when they started families (I think both of them were younger than 20, but I'm not positive; both got married right out of high school and started with kids within two years).
