Does anyone here know how to make AoE 2 LAN Multiplayer work on Windows 7 laptops?

There are times when you will miss what you never had. I wonder how you will find what you so desperately need.

AoE 2 as in Age of Empires 2? Then the easiest way would be to get the HD edition and play a private game (or was LAN implemented in a patch?). If that's not an option then this might help.
Voobly might also work. Never tried it, just been recommended to try it.
