I was considering reading this manga, but I wanted to know - how often does the series focus on the romance?
I can't really say I enjoy love stories - especially in the slice-of-life genre. I dislike romance that is flaunted in your face all the time like it's the most important thing in the world. Nor do I like characters who have an "The entire world can go to hell - so long as I get my woman, I'll be fine" attitude.

So...with all that in mind, do you think I should read Sangatsu no Lion?

Thanks in advance for the info!

I'm not sure why are you asking about that since it doesn't really have romance as genre, and the description doesn't suggest it either. It's mainly slice of life.

I asked because romance is included in the genre description for this manga in every site except MU.
Also, I think you're misunderstanding something; I didn't say I don't like slice-of-life - I said I didn't like romance. And I bet your response would have been more favourable if I'd said I wanted Akari and Rei to end up together 🤣

i have read upto chapter 13 and so far no romance. Its just a guy who is lonely and the girl and her family sort of takes away that loneliness. I don' think it will go into any deep romance or the type of romance that you seem to not like, so shouldn't be a problem i would think though in these kinds of manga there is bound to be some romance or atleast hints of romance you know.

That's because someone keeps changing the genre for this series...I'm locking it as no romance for now until someone proves it to me otherwise

The guy's stepsister probably has a "the entire world can go to hell - so long as I get my man, I'll be fine" attitude. 🤣 Her lover is one of the shogi players, I think.

The main guy has a crush on his stepsister.

She(daughter of his shogi teacher) aint his stepsister.. He(protagonist) was never adopted.. 8-) Also there were some flashbacks bout her on top of him.. But it aint clear atm bout what has rly happend.. But when love was mentioned - she just popped in his head. So far no romance..~ (15th chapter)

Scanlations are only on volume 2 of 5. Perhaps whomever keeps putting Romance in as a Genre has read the un-scanlated volumes and thus has added Romance based on knowing something we don't.

up to volume 6: no romance...

some of that with the little girl who has a crush with her childhood friend and the "stepsister" bitch who is in love with the evil shogi player xD

Im reading (kidding, i cant read japanese) volume 7 and:

wooow romance between the second sister (she have 14 years i think) and the MC??? it seems
