Ok, so right now I'm typesetting a manga. As of right now I'm using BadaBoom as my sfx font, problem is I don't think that font quite fits.
Below is the original
Does anyone know of a font with similar outer strokes? Or know some way to recreate those strokes on bababoom? Or is hand drawing the only way?

I'd go with HolyMackerel or a similar font. As for the effect, I'm not sure how to replicate it, but once you convert the text layer into a smart object, you'll be able to apply filters to the stroke... So that's something you can try.
