You should start in volume 17. The last episode was the end of volume 16. I don't think anyone has translated that far yet on on volume 9 last time i checked

ah, yes, i think that there is more to the manga... but noone is scanlating it yet... but really think that thre's going to be more of the anime... hopefully!

There is back story for characters in the first 16 volumes i was told so you shouldn't count those as not to read. The anime didn't go in to enough detail as the manga did.
