well, the character and relationship are the same, but it's set in the feudal area... or so it appear in chapter 1.
at least I'm glad the humour level are still the same.
Damn... Karasuma just HAS to appear at the very end

my take on Z is that, it seems to be a random situation kinda manga. meaning every chap may very well present different situations, places and time, with the exception of the characters. kinda like how in the original, you'd get chapters taking place in the prehistoric age, and one in ancient japan, except more frequent.
well, thats my take. to start off the first chapter of a "sequel" like that, thats what i can assume.

At this point, there's absolutely no telling where Kobayashi Jin is taking SRZ. He might play with us for a little while and then continue the story he started in School Rumble. Or he may have decided to let School Rumble stand as it is and play around with the characters, and start alternate storylines like Evangelion or Tenchi.
As soon as i realised what the first chapter was about, i wanted to puke IN the monitor. And then get the address number of the mangaka and do some Clockwork Orange-like passtime on him. 'Nuff said.

Sure, the same humour is there.
But for a monthly manga having a chapter like this sucks pure ass....
This chapter made me realise that I will wait until the manga is over then read all at once.

and then he'll make a movie called "The End of School Rumble" to spite us.

Anno at least knew what he was doing. Noone was burning NGE anime tapes at that time, like people are burning SR copies.
Anno caused hatred but it was two sided - some thought ist was bad, some thought it had deep meaning. There is no controversy in SR ending - it was a crap. And seems like SRZ will be a crap as well...

Manga/Anime. Philosophy, Poetry, books, basketball, russian rock.
2nd chapter released...runs to the bathroom to puke
Guys, let School Rumble rest in peace, because this AINT NO SCHOOL RUMBLE. This is a mix of ideas maybe the mangaka had along the way while doing the regular manga, thrown in in an absurd and inconsistent way.
More than a manga, its like a 4koma but better drawn=UTTER S***T (buy some vocals and consonants -.-)
I just so wanna knife the mangaka.
But lets hear also other opinions eh, maybe im just overreactive. (maybe NOT) 😔 🙁 😢

The problem with SRZ isn't that it is a crappy product. The huge problem that this series has is that after School Rumble meandered for so long in its own funny little way, there was finally starting to be some plot motion happening. Tenma finally hooked up with Karasuma, Harima finally got it through his thick skull that Tenma wasn't for him, Eri and Harima became "engaged", Yakumo came to grips with her feelings, and Mikoto became a little more aware of Hanai. All this happened in the course of a few exciting chapters. Then it was all stopped and rendered pointless.
At this point we became aware of SRZ. Expectations were high that the development of the last few weeks would continue but instead it seems that Kobayashi Jin is going to let School Rumble lay where it died and play around with the characters a bit more.
If we would have known what to expect instead of anticipating a conclusion to School Rumble the fans wouldn't be left going "WTF?" And maybe we'd enjoy SRZ a little more.

True that. expectations are too high. If you gave the two chapters to somebody who's only seen the first two seasons of the anime, they wouldn't be disappointed cuz its the same material he built his career around.
