Pre/During/Post Manga Rituals/Habits

What kind of habits/rituals do you have when reading manga, or getting to , or finished reading manga?.
A pre-manga reading habit is to wait till i've got a lot of volumes/chapters collected before reading. I prefer longer reading times than to get into one chapter then have to wait till the next one is out and scanlated which I might have forgotten names, plot and whatever.
During reading, i fullscreen it (no menus present), either to actual size, or to fit to screen (heightwise), and with no music. No food most of the time, as it's hard to eat, and have your hands ready for page flicking.
After reading a manga, I always check out wikipedia/IMDB/these forums for the manga &/ anime to answer any questions that still baffle me. Sometimes I will also check out movies/animes that are adapted off/to the manga, but pretty much most of the time, I watch the anime/movie first before the manga and constantly analyse what differences there are between the two..before deciding in the end which I preferred (Manga 99% of the time).
Just wondering if anyone does anything similar? I know a friend of mine does the same thing as me and checks films on IMDB after watching it in the movies. I can see this as being pretty common.

My habit is like this:
- I wait for the next chapter to be uploaded.
- I download it
- I read the whole thing
- I delete it
- I wait for the next chapter to be uploaded......
Life is tough......but it's tougher if you're stupid.

On my part, I daydream if I was on the shoes of the lead character. Also, I planned to copy the persona of the male lead role, hoping that it would fit me as well. Lastly, I usually save the best among the best in my flash drive, considering that my parents do not allowed me to download in the Internet! 😢
Looking for seijin genre, like: 1+2=Paradise, Manga Bangaichi and Lemon People.
When there is nothing to read, I just lay around or read some crappy manga and get irritated.
When I read I make stupid gestures, that's what I do when I am
concentrated.

When I read manga that I purchased, I close myself up in my room and lean against my stuffed animals and pillows to get comfortable, so I can really concentrate on what I'm reading without distractions :3
When I read on my computer, I prefer to read when no one is in the room or has visual access of the screen, but recently I haven't been giving a crap ^_^;; (I've been reading excessive amounts of Nana online).
Occasionally I'll read while listening to music, but it's easier for me to understand if I don't 🙂
Before I buy a new manga from a bookstore, I check it on here, like the length and that helps me decide whether to buy it or not. Sometimes I also check out the author to see if they have anything else that might make an interesting read 😛

I never really thought about it. I do check wikipedia or imdb, (only after I read it, spoilers) but I don't consider it a manga ritual since I do it for pretty much everything. But I guess one ritual I do have is I try to find wallpapers of whatever manga I just read. Anime too, but I don't watch nearly as much anime as manga, partially because a lot of it is based off of manga and I don't feel like seeing the same thing twice, unless the quality's really good or I can't find the manga anywhere. And another ritual I guess I was doing subconciously is I always read new chapters 2 or more times.

It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's law.

Pre - I just download whatever i see on sites and seems interesting to me, even if I just see some cover art. normally i get at leat one entire volume before reading, unless its some manga that is canlated every week. i normaly check this site for info before reading
During - i normaly read at night (creepy.. 🙂 when theres nothinbg left to do. some times i put some kind of natural noises from a programe I have, cause i start to feel weird with all the lake of any noise and i cant concentrate straight with normal music.
After - i just keep everything in the hard drive. if theres a decent anime from the manga, i may watch it

1.I download all the oneshots that i find interesting, then all the mangas that are completed, then the newest chapter on my ongoing list and record their names/titles in a notepad then just wait for night to come and read :]
- I wait for night to comes, turn off the light and read all the mangas i have downloaded :]] full screen of course. and what's awesome is that Picwalker have black bg so it's like everything is dark except for the manga pages, which is very easy to read :] i also have laptops so i lie down and read at the same time in my bed. With some J/K/C-Pop/Hiphop/Rock music of course :]
After i finish reading it. If i think the manga is good, i let it stay, if i think the manga is explitic or worthless, contains swearings and unesscesary contents... recycle bin :]
I also clean the manga database every monthly on the 2nd week :] so it's not a problem about bandwidth.

lol I'm kinda like that. only sometimes i don't even read the crappy manga i just look at it and get pissed off.
Can't read >_<
With m.s.negima, i used to open all my negima desktop mascots, etc etc and get really giddy, then sit and read it in the dark ^^
Used to have the desktop wallpaper, clock, cursor, the lot xD
Reading in general i get a 2 litre bottle of water or make a nice chocolate milkshake, sit back and go into manga hibernation. My cat usually joins me.
When im reading not on the computer, i cuddle up in bed or lie outside/on the roof if its sunny.
Oh, and I always listen to music when reading manga on the pc. I usually read one series at a time, so now when i go back and listen to certain albums, I immidiately associate them with the manga i was reading at the time. For example, when i was reading through the naruto archives, I was always listening to the newest red hot chilli peppers album, so whenever i hear one of the songs now i always think of naruto. Its great nostalgia xD

I actually also did the same, and usually after I watch an anime, I always check everything about it in wiki, especially about seiyuus

Juneau that nostalgia is really great, it also happens to me because of some books i read as kid. because i was listening to the same music almost every time i read. even though i dont remember the actual story or characters of the book, when i listen to the music i feel the same way i felt when reading lol. it feels strange. later i just stoped listening and reading at the same time.

- Sit,lurk and maybe download for 6hours
- Wait till night time
- leave manga overnight to cook while i sleep
- read in the morning
After reading ill stuff it neatly into one of my external hard drives, usually never to be read again. Unless its a series i enjoyed a lot, then ill read it again sometime in the future.

- get comfy
- wash my face (i have very oil glands(?) and it feels icky when its damn oily. This goes the same with anime)
- get the music on (depending on genre, if its romance related, then the slow songs will be played etc etc. oh yeah, and they're "anisons")
