I believe in some cases we throw 429. Can I have a better idea of what you're calling that is throwing 503s?

What's the equivalent of this "https://api.myanimelist.net/v2/users/{user_name}/animelist"?

I've tried using "https://api.mangaupdates.com/v1/lists/{id}/search", but the metadata in the response does not match the response samples. The only way I can obtain manga information such as genre, author, etc., is by using "https://api.mangaupdates.com/v1/series/{id}", but this would result in too many requests since I have a large reading list.

Did anybody from the developers in their projects use MU api and succeed in doing a separate app (MU Client) -not only just for tracking within their apps for other purposes other than info- but i mean for only manga info and database (search/filter function/track/library/Sort and display the library) and doing well & effective?

How is the progress for the site updates? UI and the other stuff you are working on now?

And is it still difficult to contain the site database for a separate app for manga info?

Many people would love if the site and its database, be in Official app especially from you and be available to make it more easier for us.

I prefer using Mangaupdates database than the other sites.

Thanks for all your hard work.

Hi. UI code is done and we are in testing phase. Hopefully we can move on to other projects soon.

Thanks a lot.

We all will appreciate it if you can once in a while tell us where you are now in the developing/updating process & after each finished phase. To be updated on the matter.

Because we all wait & anticipate all the good news from you, so it will be great to hear from you on the matter. so that we stay always updated & be in the loop.

It will be better, too. If it gets updated or announced in a separate specific topic for only it.

Thanks again.

Hello,

I am currently building an app for Android based on MangaUpdates.
To retrieve the series in my lists I am using https://api.mangaupdates.com/v1/series/search.

When I add a new serie to one of my list and then wish to update it, I noticed the json response of https://api.mangaupdates.com/v1/series/search is not immediately updated with the new serie but I have to wait some time before querying again and get the updated list.
This is the same behavior with the website itself, not only through my app, so, I guess this is the standard behavior.

But would there be a way to "bypass" this and have the updated list immediately ?
I tried to add some headers to my query (Cache-control : no-cache,no-store,must-revalidate) but with no luck.

Thanks.

Hello MU developers!

If you want to redesign the search functionality, I would recommend meilisearch. It does not have limitation window for results, uses less memory and CPU and battle tested on highload manga site.

I hope I helped with my advice. Good luck with the new UI update.

Hey, MU Devs,

I love the site but I just realized that a lot of videos from 2021 are broken, I'm not sure if its just on my end and if its just a UI issue but thanks if you look into it.

What the heck are you talking about? We don't have videos here

Wait a minute... this isn't youtube?

Also, the newupdate broke my cover preview app and I think the developer stoped working on it, so that hurts a lot, honestly I almost considered a part of Bakupdates by now with how useful it was to quickly remind myself about stuff I might not recognize by name.

Could a native "hover to preview cover" function, or similar, ever be added to Bakaupdates lists so that you can check in stuff that has titles you just can't recall or aren't sure about?

Seconding BlackOrion's request, it'd be nice to have a native cover preview setting.

Also, since the new update the search function no longer works as it used to. In the past, it would pull up 4(?) sections of results from recent updates, titles, groups, and authors. Now it just shows titles, and I can't figure out how to search for an author anymore. Would be nice if the previous functionality could be reinstated, or at least made a toggle option.

Thank you for the feedback. For now, you can go to the Mangaka page and search at the bottom of the page. It's kind of hidden, so yea I think we should do something better.

Can you let me know what pages had the cover preview? We could probably do it now.

Also, perhaps a screenshot, or a link to the plugin?

Did you "update" the design of the site?
Or is it simply a bug?
The colors of the design suddenly look ugly and the clicked on links aren't marked anymore... overall it feels like the site was downgraded...

Please roll back to the old design, incase this was a "update"...
