Ok, so I'm about to go on a trip for the summer and I'd like to stock up on some anime or to watch on the way. I just want some nice recommendations 🙂
Here are some examples of what I've seen and liked:
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e
Zettai Kareshi
Fullmetal Alchemist
Soul Eater
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo
Higurashi no Naku Koroni (and kai)
Chrno Crusade
Saikano
Anyways, I'd prefer an anime with alot of comedy/romance, but that has its sad moments too. Something like... Lovely Complex maybe?
Actually, Bokura ga Ita is a 100% hit at what I'm looking for, so something like that would be nice 😛 A movie like Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo would also be nice...

Card Captor Sakura and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles? about 120 odd eps between 'em, plus movies and OVA's. CCS is more comedy, TRC more drama.
Eureka 7 <-high on action, but good ensemble cast and romance
Nana
Vampire Knight (though you're probably already watching it)
Ituzara no Kiss
Ashiteruze Baby?

I second Kino's Journey.
My recommendations seem to be pretty popular so you might have seen them already:
Honey and Clover (seasons I and II)
Cowboy Bebop
Mushishi
Tokyo Godfathers (movie)
Byousoku 5 Centimeters
School Rumble

Third Kino's Journey, second Byousoku 5 Centimeters (5 Centimeters per Second) and Mushishi.
Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho (the place promised in our early days) is also an excellent movie, and shares the same director as 5 centimeters. I would actually recommend it over 5cm, but most people don't agree with me on that.
For a romantic comedy, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or Clannad would both be great options, Haruhi considerably more so. Just consider postponing the first episode of Haruhi until you're already 9 in or so, it tends to turn people off of what is otherwise an amazing (and very different) show. Unfortunately, neither of those are shoujo suggestions, if you want something a little more like Bokura ga Ita or Lovely Complex, Ouran or NANA are probably the best options.
For other stuff, try Monster if you haven't already, or Code Geass or Darker than BLACK.

Thanks for all the suggestions (and for being so fast too.)!! Most of these look pretty great. I'll probably be watching a few episodes of almost all of them and most definitely watching all of the movies. Thanks again for all the recommendations!!! 😀

I second Eureka 7 and Gurren Lagann. I dont devote too much time to watching anime though, since it takes too long to get through a series compared to manga so thats all I can really add.
Eureka 7 is just all around great (probably my favorite anime so far), it has pretty much a perfect balance of everything you could want and Gurren Lagann is just crazy weirdness and action awesomeness thrown together with a bit of comedy, its pretty original in the way it portrays itself so its kind of hard to describe.
I agree with everyone who said Ouran High School Host Club, The Wallflower/Perfect Girl Evolution, Eureka Seven, 5 cm per Second, Honey and Clover seasons I and II, and Saiunkoku Monogatari.
I also recommend La Corda d'Oro Primo Passo, Bokura ga Ita, Special A, Ultra Maniac, and Boys Over Flowers. Though the last one's pretty dated. With the exception of Bokura, they're all romantic comedies... and Bokura's got a shoujo feel that matches some of the stuff you mentioned, anyway. Bleach is very good to kill time with, too... and everyone should watch Spirited Away at some point or another.
Hope that helps~!
