I've also noticed that some people don't want to make them public because of certain 'weird' reading preferences.
mine are private because they are so sparse compared to some of you
🤢 that's sort of embarrassing 😀

Mine are public but they are really incomplete and I haven't really rated anything.
I guess I made them public in case anyone was wondering what kind of things I read - for recommendations or just for comparison to see if we have read the same things. I do occasionally click on someones user name to check their profile, although there really isn't much in there usually.

My lists are public so that if somebody is bored, they could go and see my list for anything that might be of interest to them. Also, cough cough if someone's feeling nice, he/she could tell me where I can DDL the ones that are in my Wish List. 😎

Mine are public so that people who have the same taste can find other stuff they might like.

I never thought of that... But really, if you have a sizable list it isn't much of a clue.
Believe me that's what I though and someone proved me wrong fast...
would you be so kind to explain this to me. what is there to discover about ??
is it just the hentai ? or is it something else.
general : do scanlators keep a low profile by keeping them closed ??

What are you talking about? I said I have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of in my lists... It's just that I was posting in this thread:
How about a game?
So I didn't want people to be able to guess where the picture came from by using my list... that's all.
And I don't think scanlators are trying to keep a low profile... I know a couple who's lists are public.

Do scanlators even need to keep a low profile?...

LOL, what's there to hide? The only reason I can think of for avid readers is to hide hentai, which isn't really a big deal.
Of course, mine are public simply because I see no reason to make them private 😀

hmm i dunno where i should really post this
but i noticed something weird about alternative/associated names...
sorry to use you as an example, but on jidfurikuri's list she has god child listed as being read... while on mine its count cain
they lead to the same series page... but... is there a way to choose which name.. to put on .. the list.... or something... @_@
sorry i'm a little confused ^^;

lilchoconut, this has already been discussed. And it's actually pretty simple:
If you put the series on your list from the series info page it will use the "default" title, if you see what I mean. On the other hand, you can add a series to your list manually by typing it's name in the my lists page (with the add series button). If you do that it will use the name you typed as the oone it will display in your, giving you the ability to chose which name for a specific series you want on your list.
I hope I didn't sound to confusing.
